So, I wanted to mess around with this “cabat” thing I heard about. It sounded interesting, kinda like a tool for… well, I wasn’t totally sure, but I was game to try it out.

Getting Started

First things first, I needed to actually get my hands on it. I did some digging around, and I found it on GitHub. It seemed I had to clone the repository to my own computer. I’m no Git expert, so this was already a bit of a learning curve for me.

I opened up my terminal – I usually use the default one on my Mac, nothing fancy – and typed in the git clone command followed by the repository URL I found.

I watched as a bunch of files started downloading. I gotta admit, I don’t always understand what all these files are, but I figured the important stuff would be in there somewhere.

Figuring Out How to Use It

Once everything was downloaded, I had a new folder on my computer. I navigated into that folder using the cd command in the terminal. Then I typed ls to see what was inside. There were a few files and folders, including something called . I’ve learned that these README files usually have some instructions, so I opened it up.

The README was, thankfully, pretty clear. it told me that I have to type the command “cabat”, and It showed some examples of how to use the command with different options, I guess to customize what it does. Cool!

My First Attempt

I decided to try one of the simple examples from the README. I typed it into the terminal, exactly as it was shown, and hit enter. The terminal whirred for a bit, showing some text that I didn’t fully understand, and finally completed, It worked! It displayed a simple text in the terminal.

Experimenting

Now that I had it working, I started to play around with the different options. I changed some of the parameters in the command, just to see what would happen. Some of the changes didn’t seem to do anything, while others made a big difference.

My Overall Impression

All in all, it was a fun little experiment. I still don’t fully grasp all the ins and outs of “cabat”, but I got it working, I played around with it, and I learned a little something along the way. Maybe I’ll dig into it more later, but for now, I’m satisfied with my little adventure.
