Okay, so I’ve been racking my brain for weeks trying to figure out the perfect Christmas presents for my friends. I wanted something personal, not just, like, a generic gift card, you know?

The Brainstorm
First, I listed out all my friends’ names. Sounds basic, but it helps! Then, next to each name, I jotted down anything I knew they were into – hobbies, favorite colors, shows they loved, anything that came to mind. I even stalked their social media a little bit (don’t judge!) for extra clues.
The Ideas
After that, I just started brainstorming. Some initial ideas were kinda lame, I’m not gonna lie. Like, scented candles… boring. But then, I started getting somewhere. Sarah loves baking, so maybe a cute set of cookie cutters? And Mark is obsessed with that one band, maybe I could find some cool merch.
The DIY Route
I also decided to try and make some stuff. I’m not super crafty, but I figured I could at least manage something simple. I remembered seeing these cute personalized mugs online, so I thought, “Why not?” I looked up some tutorials and figured it wouldn’t be too hard.
- Bought some plain white mugs.
- Got some special ceramic markers.
- Practiced my designs on paper first (very important!).
The Execution
The mug-making was a bit of a rollercoaster. My first attempt was… not great. The marker kept smudging, and my handwriting looked like a five-year-old’s. But I kept at it! I redid a few, and they slowly started to look decent. I even added little inside jokes and things specific to each friend.
For the other gifts, I spent a whole afternoon hitting up different stores. It was kinda chaotic, with all the Christmas shoppers, but I actually found some pretty cool stuff! I managed to get that band merch for Mark, and those cookie cutters for Sarah, plus a few other things.

The Final Touches
Finally, I wrapped everything up. I’m not the best wrapper, but I tried to make it look somewhat presentable. I even made little name tags out of cardstock and ribbon. It was a lot of work, but honestly, I’m pretty proud of how it all turned out!
I can’t wait to see their faces when they open them. Hopefully, they’ll like the gifts, and they are all happy. Fingers crossed!
