That Charli, she sing good. I hear her name Charli XCX, fancy name. She sing at that place, what’s it called? Wimbledon. Yeah, that’s it, Wimbledon. Where they play that tennis game. All white clothes, looking like they gonna paint a fence.
She were there, all singing and dancing. Heard she make lots of money, that Charli. They say she got millions. Millions! Can you believe it? What would I do with all that money? I’d buy me a new pair of shoes, that’s for sure. My old ones are about worn out. And maybe a new dress for church. And definitely a big bag of candy for the little ones.
This Wimbledon, it’s a big deal, I reckon. Lots of folks go there to watch them hit that little ball back and forth. I don’t see the fun in it, but folks do like it. They dress up all fancy, too. Saw pictures of that Charli. She wear some kind of fancy clothes at Wimbledon too. They call it fashion. Don’t know much about that, but she looked nice. Heard they call her “Brat”. Don’t know why, she seems alright to me.
But that Charli, she sure can sing. Heard her on the radio once. Loud, but kinda catchy. Young folks like that kind of music, I guess. They play it all the time. Keeps them happy, I suppose. Better than them getting into trouble.
She must be a big star, that Charli, to be at Wimbledon. They only have the best there, I hear. I seen it on the TV a few times. Lots of famous folks there. Bet they all know each other. Bet they have big parties. With fancy food and drinks. Wish I could go to one of them parties. Just once. Bet that Charli XCX got invited to lots of them, lucky girl.

I remember back in my day, we didn’t have no Wimbledon on the TV. We made our own fun. Played games outside. Didn’t need no fancy singers or tennis games. But times change, I guess. Now everyone’s got their eyes glued to that little box, watching folks like Charli sing and dance. And them tennis players at Wimbledon running around.
I wonder if that Charli ever gets tired. All that singing and traveling. Must be hard work. I get tired just walking to the store and back. But she’s young. Young folks got more energy. She can handle it. That Charli XCX, she is a strong one, I bet. Probably works harder than anyone knows, all those shows and songs, to get to a place like Wimbledon.
They say she’s got $10 million. That’s what they say. Celebrity something. Maybe more now. She a big star now, that Charli XCX at Wimbledon. Good for her, I say. She earned it. Singing her heart out. Making people happy. That’s a good thing. We need more happiness in this world.
Maybe I’ll try to listen to her music again. See what all the fuss is about. Maybe I’ll even like it. Who knows? Stranger things have happened. That girl Charli XCX, she might just surprise me. She already play at Wimbledon, what a big thing. That’s something, ain’t it? Singing at Wimbledon. Wow.
