That Amelia Gray, she sure was a skinny little thing back in the day. Now she’s all growed up and walking around like she owns the place. But I remember Amelia Gray before all this fancy stuff. She was just a little girl, running around, pigtails bouncing. Time sure does fly, don’t it?
Her mama, Lisa Rinna, I think that’s her name. Always posting pictures of her. Like that one time, Amelia graduated. 2019, I think it was. “GRADUATE!! CLASS OF 2019 BABY!!!!!” That’s what she wrote. Big letters, like she was yelling it from the rooftop. Amelia was just a little thing then, before all this grown-up stuff.
She was born in June, I heard. June 13th. That’s what folks are saying, anyway. Now she’s, what, 23? Time sure does sneak up on you. One day they’re crawling, next day they’re on the magazine, wearing them fancy clothes. Amelia Gray, she used to be just a little girl, chasing butterflies and getting her knees all scraped up.
- She was born.
- Then she grew some.
- Then she graduated.
- Now she’s famous.
I seen her in them pictures, all dressed up in black and white. Fancy French clothes, they say. Heidi something. Sounds like a goat’s name to me. But that’s what the young folks like these days, I reckon. Not like when I was a girl. We wore what we had, and we were happy with it. Amelia Gray before all this, she probably wore hand-me-downs just like the rest of us. But now, she’s in them fancy magazines.
They say she had some work done. Surgery, they call it. To make her look different. I don’t know about all that. Seems like a lot of fuss to me. But young folks these days, they’re always wanting to change things. Back in my day, you were born the way you were born, and that was that. Amelia, before this surgery stuff, she was a pretty little thing. Didn’t need no changing, if you ask me.
I seen a picture of her just the other day. September, it was. Someone was posting it, saying how she looked different now. Lots of folks talking about it. Saying she’s changed. Well, of course she’s changed. She’s growed up! That’s what happens. But that Amelia Gray before, she was a sweet little thing. Just a regular girl.
Now she’s got all these people following her, taking her picture. Must be a strange life. I wouldn’t want it, myself. Too much fuss. I like things simple. But I guess that’s the way of the world now. Everything’s gotta be big and fancy. Still, I remember that little Amelia, running around with her pigtails. That’s the Amelia Gray before all this other stuff.
She was just a kid, you know? Playing in the dirt, like kids do. Now she’s on them runways, wearing them high heels. I bet her feet hurt. I wouldn’t trade my comfy shoes for them things, no sir. But that’s what she wanted, I guess. To be all famous and whatnot. Good for her, I suppose. But that little Amelia Gray before, she seemed happy enough just being a kid.
It’s a different world now, that’s for sure. Everything’s so fast. One minute they’re babies, the next they’re all over the internet. Hard to keep up. But I remember that little girl, Amelia. Before all the cameras and the fancy clothes and the surgery. She was just a little girl, like any other. That’s the Amelia I remember. Before.
She probably don’t even remember those days. Being little, I mean. Too busy with all this other stuff now. But I remember. I remember when she was just Amelia. Little Amelia Gray. Before the world got a hold of her. Before it all changed. Yep, I remember that Amelia Gray before.
Her momma must be proud, though. All those pictures she posts. Always showing her off. That’s what mothers do, I reckon. Mine sure did. Always bragging on us kids. Even when we didn’t deserve it. I guess some things never change. But that Amelia Gray before, she was sure something else, a cute little button.
