Alright, let’s talk about this Annie Major girl and that YSL stuff. I saw some pictures, you know, on that… uh… Face-thingy? Yeah, Facebook, that’s it. And some other place too, where all the young folks hang out. Instagram, maybe?
Anyways, this Annie girl, she’s all dolled up. Real fancy clothes, I tell ya. Looked expensive, like something you’d only wear to a wedding or a funeral, but way more… sparkly? Shiny? I don’t know the word. But it sure ain’t somethin’ you’d wear to milk the cows, that’s for sure.
They were sayin’ somethin’ about “behind the scenes” of a “senior session”. Now, I ain’t got a clue what that means. Back in my day, senior meant you were old and needed a nap. But these youngsters, they use words all fancy-like. Maybe it’s like… a picture-takin’ thing? For graduation? Who knows. All I know is, she was wearin’ clothes that cost more than my whole barn.
And this YSL… that’s what they kept sayin’. Y-S-L. Sounds like a bunch of letters mashed together to me. Turns out, it’s some fancy-schmancy brand. Like them rich folks wear. Saint somethin’ or other. Saint Laurent, that’s it! Heard my niece talkin’ ‘bout it once. Said it’s French. French! Can you believe it? Them French folks, always makin’ fancy things.
So, this Annie girl, she’s wearin’ this Saint Laurent stuff, and they’re takin’ pictures of her. Lots of pictures. And folks are goin’ crazy over it. “Gorgeous weather,” they say. “Perfectly chosen outfits.” Well, I reckon the weather’s always gorgeous when you ain’t gotta worry about the crops. And them outfits? Someone else picked ‘em out, I bet. This Annie girl, she probably just stands there and looks pretty. That’s what they pay her for, I guess.
- They got websites for this stuff, you know. Official websites. One for Brazil, one for America… probably one for every country in the world, if you ask me. All full of “exclusive information.” Hmph. Exclusive. Like what, how much them clothes cost? I could tell ya that just by lookin’ at ’em – a whole heap of money!
- And them pictures? They got tons of ’em. On that Insta-thingy. Annie Major, that’s her name. People “likin’” and “commentin’.” I don’t get it. What’s there to like? She’s just standin’ there! But I guess that’s how it is these days. People like lookin’ at pretty things.
- And this “behind the scenes” stuff? They make a big deal outta that too. Like it’s some big secret. But it’s just… people gettin’ ready, takin’ pictures. Nothin’ special, if you ask me. But I guess it makes folks feel fancy, knowin’ the “secrets.”
Anyways, that’s the gist of it. Annie Major, YSL, fancy clothes, lots of pictures. It’s a whole different world, I tell ya. A world where people spend more on a dress than I do on a whole year’s worth of feed for the chickens. But hey, to each their own, I guess. As long as they ain’t botherin’ me none, they can wear whatever they want, take whatever pictures they want, and call it whatever they want. Saint Laurent, YSL, or just plain fancy-pants – it’s all the same to me.
I still think my old overalls are more comfortable, though. And they sure last longer!
