Alright, so I finally caved and got myself the YSL Soft Hobo bag. I’d been eyeing it for ages, you know, seeing it all over Instagram and whatnot. I was a little nervous, to be honest, but needed a practice.
Getting Started
First things first, I scoured the internet. I mean, really scoured it. I looked at every picture, watched every review video, and read every blog post I could find. I was trying to figure out if it was actually worth the hype (and the price tag!). I was also trying to decide between the different sizes and colors. It’s a big decision, okay?
Making the Choice the color and size
After all the back and forth, finally settled on the medium size in black. Classic, right? I figured it would go with everything, and I wouldn’t have to worry about it looking dated in a few years.
The Unboxing
Oh. My. Goodness. The packaging alone was an experience. It came in this beautiful box, all tied up with a ribbon. I felt like I was opening a present, not just buying a purse. Inside, the bag was nestled in a dust bag, all soft and luxurious.
The First Impression
When I finally got my hands on the bag, I was immediately struck by how soft the leather was. Like, unbelievably soft. It’s that kind of leather that just feels amazing to touch. It has a simple, elegant feel.
Putting It to the Test
- Carrying it around: I’ve been using it as my everyday bag for a couple of weeks now, and it’s been great. It holds a surprisingly amount of stuff. I can fit my wallet, phone, keys, a small makeup bag, and even a water bottle in there without it feeling too bulky.
- The strap situation: The strap is adjustable, which is awesome. I like to wear it as a shoulder bag, but you can also make it longer and wear it crossbody. It’s pretty comfortable, even when the bag is full.
- Wearing it with different outfits: I’ve worn it with jeans and a t-shirt, and I’ve worn it with a dress and heels. It seriously looks good with everything. I was a little worried it would be too dressy for everyday use, but it’s not.
