Okay, so, let me tell you about this little adventure I had. I decided to hit up the MTV Video Music Awards, or VMAs, at the UBS Arena. Yeah, I know, sounds fancy, right? Well, it was a bit of a mixed bag, to be honest.
First off, I got all excited and marked my calendar for September 10th. I was like, “This is it! I’m going to the VMAs!” I got my tickets and started planning my outfit. I wanted to look good, you know, but not like I was trying too hard. Casual but stylish, that was the goal.
The day finally arrived, and I made my way to the UBS Arena in New York. The place is huge, I gotta say. I got there a bit early, just to soak it all in. I was walking around, checking out the scene, and people-watching. There were some interesting outfits, let me tell you. Some were awesome, some were… well, let’s just say they were unique.
I found my seat and settled in. The energy in the arena was electric. Everyone was buzzing, waiting for the show to start. The lights dimmed, the crowd roared, and boom! The show kicked off. I found out from people’s chatting that MTV had over 2 million viewers.
The performances were pretty cool. I was hoping to see Charli XCX, but apparently, she skipped the event to get ready for her tour. I was like, “Seriously? You’re starting a tour soon? That makes sense, I guess.” It’s a bummer, but understandable. Oh, and Olivia Rodrigo and Ariana Grande? Nope, they weren’t there either. I guess they had their reasons, but still, a little disappointing.
The awards themselves were, well, awards. Eminem got some awards, which was cool. I mean, who doesn’t like Eminem? He’s a legend. The Best Hip-Hop and Best Visual Effects awards went to him, which was no surprise.

As the night went on, I realized something. The ratings for these award shows aren’t what they used to be. But, the VMAs did pretty well, they had their biggest audience in four years. I guess that’s something, right?
By the end of the night, I was tired but satisfied. It was an experience, for sure. Would I go again? Hmm, maybe. It was fun, but it was also a lot. Plus, I got work to do, you know? This blogging thing isn’t going to do itself.
So, that’s my story about the VMAs at the UBS Arena. It was a night of music, awards, and some interesting fashion choices. And hey, I got to say I was there, right?
