Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Cherry Seaborn and that fancy Met Gala thing. I ain’t never been to no gala, mind you. My kinda party is a good old-fashioned barn raisin’, but I heard tell about these rich folks and their sparkly dresses.
So, this Cherry gal, she’s hitched to that Ed Sheeran fella, the one with the guitar and all them lovey-dovey songs. He sings real nice, I gotta say, even though I don’t understand half the words. Heard him on the radio once when I was drivin’ my old pickup to the market. Anyways, Cherry, she’s his missus.
Now, from what I gather, these two, they go way back. Like, way back to high school, see? They was just kids then, runnin’ around and probably gettin’ into all sorts of mischief. Kids these days, always up to somethin’. But then, life happened, as it always does. They went their separate ways for a spell, but somethin’ brought ’em back together. Fate, they call it. Or maybe just good ol’ common sense, seein’ as how they seem to be head over heels for each other.
They say they reconnected in 2015, somethin’ like that. I ain’t good with dates, never was. All I know is, they got hitched and now they got a couple of young’uns runnin’ around. Good for them, I say. Nothin’ better than a big, happy family, even if they are richer than Midas and live in a castle or somethin’.
Cherry, she ain’t just some pretty face neither. From what the TV folks say, she’s a smart cookie. Works hard, does her own thing. And she even starred in one of Ed’s music videos! Can you believe it? Put It All On Me, it was called. I tried watchin’ it once, but the darn thing was so fast and flashy, it made my head spin. Kids these days and their fancy music.
Now, this Met Gala, it’s a big deal, apparently. All the famous folks dress up in clothes that cost more than my farm, and they parade around like peacocks. I bet Cherry was lookin’ mighty fine, though. She’s a pretty gal, that Cherry. I seen her picture in one of them magazines at the grocery store. Had on this long dress, looked like it was made of diamonds or somethin’. Landsakes, I don’t know how she walked in that thing.

But you know what I think? All that glitz and glamour, it don’t mean nothin’ if you ain’t happy. And from what I hear, those two, Ed and Cherry, they seem pretty content. They got each other, they got their kids, and they got all the money in the world, I guess. But money ain’t everything. Love and family, that’s what really matters. That’s what I always told my own kids, and they seem to have done alright for themselves, bless their hearts.
So, there ya have it. A little somethin’ about Cherry Seaborn and the Met Gala. Not that I know much about it, mind you. I’m just an old woman who likes to sit on her porch and watch the birds. But I reckon even us country folk can appreciate a good love story, even if it involves a sparkly dress and a whole lotta money. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. Got a pot of beans simmerin’ on the stove.
Just remember, it don’t matter if you’re a big shot singer or a simple country woman, love is love and family is everything. That’s what I’ve learned in all my years.
