Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “tot” thing – basically a tiny, super-fast text editor. I wanted to figure out precisely when it became a thing, and boy, was that a rabbit hole.
My Little Investigation
First, I fired up my trusty search engine. You know, the usual “when was tot created” kind of query. I got a bunch of results, but nothing that really nailed it down. Lots of articles about tot, but not much on its origins.
So, I dug a little deeper. I started checking out the developer’s website, looking for any kind of “About” page or release notes. I figured that would be the most reliable source, right?
I poked around the site for a while. I even checked out their social media, hoping for some kind of announcement post from way back when. Still, nothing concrete.
Then, I remembered the Wayback Machine! That thing is awesome for looking at old versions of websites. I typed in the tot developer’s URL and started browsing through snapshots from previous years.
I scrolled through a bunch of different dates, and I finally hit something interesting. There was a mention of tot in a forum, and I think it was in a new forum, that’s all I know, wish I had more information to share.
It wasn’t a super detailed explanation or anything, but it was enough to give me a general timeframe. Finally, I had an estimate, which is the best that I am going to get, I guess.
