Try icp without the paint: Tips for quick results

by Doreen Robbins

So, I saw a few folks online asking about doing something with ICP without all that colorful stuff. I remembered I did something like this a while back when I was in school, so I thought I’d share what I did.

First, I got all my stuff together. I’m not talking about fancy paints or anything. I had this old ICP machine that we used for some experiments. I wanted to see what was inside without messing with all the colors.

Here’s what I did:

  • I carefully opened up the machine. It wasn’t easy, but I managed to do it without breaking anything.
  • Then, I started looking at all the parts inside. I didn’t have those special glasses, so I just used my eyes.
  • It was pretty cool to see all those wires and tubes without all those bright, safety colors.
  • I carefully documented each steps using my phone.
  • I even took some pictures with my phone, it’s a little rough, but you get the idea.

It was a fun little project. I learned a lot about how that machine worked just by looking at it without all the colors. It’s like seeing the behind-the-scenes of a magic show. I’m not saying everyone should go around opening up machines, but it was an interesting experience for me.

If you’re into this kind of thing, you might enjoy it too. Just be careful and make sure you know what you’re doing. And maybe don’t do it with a brand new machine, haha!

Anyways, I hope someone finds this interesting. It’s not every day you get to see the guts of an ICP machine without all the fancy stuff!
