Well, I tell ya, everybody wants some outfits, don’t they?
It’s like this, you see, ever since those fancy-pants designers started showing off their new stuff last fall, seems like everyone’s itching to get their hands on the latest duds. Fall 2024 outfits, they call it. I just call it new clothes, myself.
Them city folks, they got these “street style stars” they look at. I guess they’re like the fancy ladies in town, always dressed up. Anyways, these city folks, they copy what them stars wear. Spring outfits, summer outfits, fall outfits, seems like there’s always a new outfit for somethin’.
- Spring, they say, is all about light and airy things. Like them flowery dresses my granddaughter wears.
- Summer, well, that’s easy. Just somethin’ to keep ya cool. Short sleeves, you know.
- Fall, that’s when they start piling on the clothes. Jackets and sweaters and such. I reckon they gotta stay warm somehow.
Them fashion folks, they talk about “runway trends.” Runway? Sounds like somethin’ at the airport. But from what I gather, it’s just where they show off the clothes. And whatever they show, folks want. Fashion trends, they call it. More like followin’ the leader if you ask me.
New York, Milan… them’s some faraway places. But I hear tell they’re big on fashion. City slickers wearin’ all sorts of things. I seen pictures in the magazines at the doctor’s office. Some of it looks plumb silly, if you ask me. But I guess that’s what they like.
Fall, they say, is the best time to get new clothes. I reckon it’s ’cause it’s gettin’ cold and you need somethin’ warm. But these folks ain’t just thinkin’ about warm; they’re thinkin’ about lookin’ good. Update your wardrobe, they say. I just say, “get some warm clothes.”
Them streets, they’re like a big fashion show, apparently. “Street style scene,” they call it. Sounds fancy, but it’s just people walkin’ around in their clothes. But I guess some folks got a knack for puttin’ together outfits. Easy outfits, stylish outfits, I don’t know. Just seems like clothes to me.
Vogue India? Never heard of it. But I guess they’re the ones who tell folks what to wear over there. Bollywood, Hollywood… all them movie stars. They got folks watchin’ what they wear, too. Latest fashion trends, always somethin’ new.
And them fancy designers, they got folks makin’ the clothes, too. Tailors and dressmakers, they call ’em. Been around forever, I reckon. Makin’ clothes for folks. But now they got these big factories and machines, makin’ all sorts of things. Affordable brands and designer pieces, somethin’ for everyone, I s’pose.
So, yeah, everybody wants some outfits. Whether it’s for spring or summer or fall, folks want to look good. Me? I just want somethin’ comfortable and warm. But them city folks, they got their own ideas. And I reckon that’s just fine. To each their own, I always say.
I hear tell they got these new jeans comin’ out. Jeans outfits are all the rage now, you know? They say they make your backside look smaller. Now, I ain’t one to pay much mind to such things, but my daughter, she’s always frettin’ about her figure. So maybe I’ll get her a pair, see if they do what they claim.
And the colors! This year they say bright colors are in. Colorful outfits, that’s the ticket. Last year it was all browns and grays, like a muddy field. This year they say it’s gonna be reds and yellows and greens, like a flower garden. I tell ya, these fashion folks, they change their minds more often than the weather.
They also got these new boots comin’ out. Boots outfits are big, I’m told. Ankle boots, knee-high boots, even boots that go all the way up to your thigh! I don’t know who’d want to wear somethin’ like that, but I guess they’re popular with the young ‘uns. Me, I’ll stick to my sensible shoes. At my age, comfort is more important than fashion, that’s for sure.
I reckon I’ll just stick to my old ways, though. A good pair of overalls and a sturdy shirt, that’s good enough for me. But for those city folks, well, they can have their fancy outfits. It don’t hurt nobody, I guess. And if it makes ‘em happy, then that’s all that matters. Still, sometimes I just gotta laugh at the things they come up with.
