Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole “sixties fashion” thing lately, and let me tell you, it’s a rabbit hole. I started with a simple question: What were people wearing back then?

First, I went on a hunt for some images. I opened up my browser and started searching, you know, just typing in “sixties fashion” and seeing what popped up. I looked through a whole lot of pictures, and I mean, a whole lot.
Diving Deeper
After getting a general idea, I wanted to get more specific. I narrowed my search.
- I tried phrases like “sixties mod fashion” to see those sharp suits and geometric patterns.
- Then I looked up “sixties hippie fashion” to see the more flowy, colorful stuff.
- I even searched for things like “sixties dresses” or “sixties men’s fashion” to see different categories.
I saved a bunch of images that I liked. I made a new folder on my computer and just dragged and dropped them in there. I tried to organize them a little, but honestly, it’s kind of a mess. I started making different folders for different styles, like one for “mod” and one for “hippie”, you know how it is.
Getting Inspired
Now, with all these pictures, I started to get some ideas. I’m not a fashion designer or anything, but I thought it would be fun to try and recreate some of these looks. I went through my own closet to see if I had anything similar. I found a few things, a patterned shirt, an old dress, you know. Not exactly the same, but it gave me something to start with.
Then, I started browsing around, you know, just window-shopping. I just looked at different pictures, not really buying anything, just getting inspired. I looked at some vintage clothing, but also just regular clothes that had a similar vibe.

This whole thing has been a fun little project. I’m not sure what I’ll do with it next, maybe try to put together some outfits, or maybe just keep collecting images. I don’t know, but it’s been a cool way to learn about a different time and see how people expressed themselves through clothes.
I hope you have found my sharing today to be interesting, and I will continue to share more about it next time.
