Alright, let’s talk about this Ice Spice and her Betty Boop outfit. I saw some pictures, and lemme tell ya, it was somethin’ else. This girl, Ice Spice, she dressed up like that cartoon character, Betty Boop, you know, the one with the big eyes and the short dress? Yeah, her.
Now, I ain’t no fashion expert, not by a long shot. I wear what’s comfortable, what keeps me warm in the winter and cool in the summer, ya know? But even I could see this outfit was…well, it was somethin’. She had on this red dress, real tight it was, showed off all her curves. And these fishnet tights, the kind my granddaughter wears sometimes, though I tell her they ain’t proper. But Ice Spice, she pulled it off, I guess.
- She had these black shoes, shiny they were, with a pointy toe. High heels, too. Lord, I don’t know how these young girls walk in them things. I’d break my ankle sure as the sun rises in the east.
- And the hair, all curled up and black, just like Betty Boop herself. Someone even said she had a New York kinda style to it, like those clothes from back in the day, Y2K they call it. Don’t ask me what that means, it’s all gibberish to me.
She wore this whole getup for Halloween, they say. And she was singin’ and dancin’ on some stage. A big stage, looked like, with lots of lights and people. They called it a “Powerhouse” performance, whatever that means. Sounded loud though, I bet my ears would be ringin’ for a week after that.
People online, they went crazy for it. Took pictures and videos, posted them all over the place. My grandson showed me some, said she “broke the internet.” I don’t know ’bout breakin’ no internet, seems like a waste to me. But people sure did like it, that’s for sure.
Now, I don’t know much about Ice Spice or her music. Heard some of it on the radio once, sounded like a bunch of noise to me. But this outfit, it caught my eye. It was… bold. That’s the word, bold. Not somethin’ I’d wear, mind you, but for a young gal like her, it seemed to work. She looked like she was havin’ fun, at least. And that’s what matters, I guess.
Someone said she even had satin pumps on, those fancy shoes. Red dress, black shoes, fishnets… sounds like a lot, don’t it? But somehow, on her, it all came together. She looked like that Betty Boop character come to life, that’s for sure.
Folks were talkin’ about it everywhere. On them “social medias,” my grandson calls ’em. Pictures and comments, everybody had somethin’ to say. Some folks liked it, some didn’t. That’s how it always is, ain’t it? Can’t please everyone.
But this Ice Spice, she seems to be doin’ alright for herself. Dressin’ up like cartoon characters, singin’ songs, makin’ people talk. She’s got somethin’, I guess. Energy, maybe. Or just plain ol’ confidence. That goes a long way, you know. More than fancy clothes ever will.
Anyway, that’s my take on this Ice Spice and her Betty Boop outfit. It was somethin’ alright. Somethin’ to talk about, at least. And these days, that’s sayin’ somethin’.
I also heard she was working with some big company called RiotUSA. Guess they make clothes or somethin’. My grandson showed me another picture and told me the person who took the picture was not actually Ice Spice even though they looked a lot alike. Kids these days are always confusing me with all their stuff.
So yeah, Ice Spice as Betty Boop. Remember that name, Betty Boop. She was around way before Ice Spice was even a twinkle in her daddy’s eye. And that red dress. And those fishnets. Can’t forget those fishnets. It was quite a sight, let me tell ya. Quite a sight indeed.
