Alright, so you wanna know why that Christina girl up and left Ugly Betty, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it was a whole heap of mess, not just one thing.
That Don guy, he was a liar, plain and simple. He wasn’t who he said he was, pretended to be all fancy-pants. Betty, she ain’t no fool, even if she’s a bit, you know, plain-lookin’. She found out he’d been lyin’ through his teeth for years. Imagine that! Years! And it wasn’t just lyin’, he treated her somethin’ awful. Cheatin’ and hollerin’ and makin’ her feel small. Nobody deserves that, not even a dog.
- First off, Don lied about who he was. That’s a big no-no, right?
- Then, he treated Betty like dirt. Real bad. Like she wasn’t worth nothin’.
- And on top of all that, he was cheatin’ on her! Can you believe it? The nerve of that fella!
So yeah, Betty, she had enough. She packed her bags, figuratively speakin’, and got herself outta there. Wouldn’t you? I woulda’ whacked him with my purse, that’s what I woulda’ done.
Then there was all that drama with the Meade Publications company. Christina, she got herself pushed down some stairs, can you believe it? Accidentally, they say. But still! Betty, she felt bad, I guess, so she gave up her shares of the company. Sounds like a mess to me. All that fancy company stuff, I never understood it. Give me a good day of gardening any time.
And that Sofia woman, she was another piece of work. Deceptive, they said. But even she saw somethin’ special in Betty. Said she was talented. Well, I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes, right?
Ugly Betty, that show, it was popular back in the day. People liked it. Even now, folks still talk about it. I watched it sometimes when I was doin’ my knittin’. It was kinda funny, kinda sad, kinda everything all rolled into one. Just like life, I guess. Full of twists and turns and people bein’ plain ol’ crazy.
You know, it’s like that time my neighbor’s dog, Buster, ran off with the mailman’s hat. Caused a whole ruckus. People were yellin’, dogs were barkin’, it was a whole to-do. And for what? A silly hat. Sometimes people just do things that don’t make no sense. Like that Don guy lyin’ to Betty. Why do it? Just be honest, that’s what I say. But nobody listens to an old woman like me.
So anyway, that’s the long and short of it. Betty left because she was treated bad and lied to. Plain and simple. And that company stuff, well, that was just more drama on top of everything else. Life’s complicated, ain’t it? Even more complicated than my prize-winning zucchini recipe.
And all them other shows, they got their own drama too. People dyin’, people cheatin’, people fightin’. It’s all the same, just different faces and different places. Makes you wonder why we even watch it, all this sadness and trouble. But we do, don’t we? Guess we like to see other folks’ problems for a change, instead of just our own.
So, there you have it. The whole story, as best as I can tell it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my tomatoes. Them squirrels, they’re always tryin’ to steal ‘em. Just like some people try to steal your happiness, I guess. You gotta keep an eye on things, that’s for sure.
