Rolex and Autism: A Special Watch? Find Out More here! (Beginners Look)

Okay, so I stumbled upon this “rolex autism watch” thing online, and I got curious. I’m no watch expert, but I like tinkering, so I figured, why not try to make something similar? I mean, it seemed like a fun weekend project.

Getting Started

First, I gathered some basic materials. I didn’t want to ruin any actual watches, so I grabbed a cheap, old watch from a drawer. I also needed some colorful plastic – I used some old bottle caps I had lying around. And, of course, I needed some tools: a small screwdriver, some glue, and a pair of pliers.

The Messy Process

  • I started by carefully taking the watch apart. It was trickier than I expected! Those little screws are tiny.
  • Then, I cut the plastic bottle caps into small, colorful pieces. The idea was to have them represent different… well, I guess you could call them fidgety bits.
  • Next, I started gluing the plastic pieces onto the watch face. This was the messy part. I definitely got glue everywhere.
  • I also tried to arrange the colors in a way that looked… kind of pleasing? I wasn’t going for any specific pattern, just something that looked nice and was fun to fiddle with.
  • I added other colorful parts, like beads.

Putting It Back Together (Sort Of)

Once the glue dried (which took longer than I thought it would), I tried to put the watch back together. Let’s just say it wasn’t exactly a perfect fit anymore. I mean, I had added a bunch of stuff to it. It was more of a… chunky, colorful thing on a watch strap.

The Final Result

Honestly, it didn’t look like a Rolex. Not even close. But it was kind of cool in its own, homemade way. It was definitely something you could fidget with. I ended up giving it to my kid, who seemed to like it. They spent a good hour just twisting and turning the little plastic bits.

So, yeah, that was my attempt at making a “rolex autism watch.” It was more of a crafting experiment than anything else, but it was fun! Definitely wouldn’t recommend trying to pass it off as a real Rolex, though. It will get a laugh.
