Okay, so, let’s talk about this Original Penguin cologne thing. I’ve been meaning to try out some new scents, you know, spice things up a bit. And this brand, Original Penguin, kept popping up on my radar. I saw some mentions of it online, read a few reviews, and thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First off, I learned that Original Penguin is actually a clothing line that started way back in the 50s. They’ve got a whole range of colognes, and I found out the first one came out in 2011. They have nine in total now, with the latest one being released in 2018. Seems like they know a thing or two about smelling good.
So, I started by doing a bit of digging. I wanted to see what the options were. I checked out a few different stores online. * had a good selection, and I also saw some gift sets on Macy’s. Walmart had some too. It was easy to find, which was a good start.
I figured out that colognes usually have these citrusy oils mixed in, like lemon, orange, and all that. This Original Penguin stuff, specifically the “Original Blend”, they said it was refreshing and kind of like the ocean, which sounded pretty nice. There was this other one called “Premium Blend” that had lime peel in it. I mean who knew, right?
Next, I wanted to see what other people were saying about it. One review I found mentioned that Original Penguin smelled more “mature” and reminded them of fall. They said it was good for casual wear or going to the office. That sounded about right for me, nothing too crazy.
Trying it Out
I decided to just go for it and order a bottle of the Original Blend online. It arrived pretty quickly, which was great. I gave it a try, and honestly, it was pretty good! It definitely had that fresh, clean vibe they talked about. Not overpowering, but definitely noticeable.

- Throughout the Day: It lasted a decent amount of time. I could still catch a whiff of it in the afternoon.

I even tried wearing it out a couple of times, you know, just to see how it felt in different situations. One time I wore it to work, and another time when I went out with friends. It seemed to work well in both settings. It wasn’t too strong for the office, but it still had enough presence to be noticeable when I was out.
