Back then, a fella would wear his jeans, that’s for sure. Not these skinny things they got now. Good, strong jeans. Maybe a little loose, you know, for workin’ and such. Darker color, most times. Lighter ones were for when you was cleanin’ up a bit, maybe goin’ to town.

- Dark blue was good, lasted a long time.
And shirts, well, a man had his t-shirts, plain ones. White, blue, gray, nothin’ too bright. Polo shirts too, for when you wanted to look a little nicer. 2005 men fashion was all about bein’ comfortable, but also lookin’ decent. You see, a man worked hard. His clothes showed that. Strong, like him.
Shoes? Boots, mostly. Good, sturdy boots for workin’. Or those sneaker things, you know, for when you weren’t workin’ so hard. Nothin’ fancy, just plain and simple.
Now, these young fellas today, they wear all sorts of things. Tight pants, bright colors, I don’t know. Back in casual 2005 fashion men days, it was simpler. You just wanted to be comfortable, and look like you could get a job done.
Jackets, yeah, we had jackets. Denim jackets, them were popular. Or a good work jacket, somethin’ to keep you warm when it got cold. Nothin’ too flashy, just practical. It was all about being practical, you see.
You wanted your clothes to last. Nowadays clothes just for lookin’ good, not lastin’ long. We had to make things last back then. We didn’t have money to be buyin’ new clothes all the time. And color, had to match, sort of. Not too many colors all at once.

And we didn’t have all these fancy stores back then. Just the general store, mostly. Or you ordered from a catalog. Simple, you know? You picked out what you needed, and that was that. No fussin’ about it. Casual fashion for men back then just simple.
Nowadays clothes got holes in ’em on purpose! We’d patch up our clothes, make ’em last. These kids today, they buy ’em with holes already in ’em. Don’t make no sense.

You see these young fellas now, they spend all this time on their hair, their clothes. Back in my day, a man just wanted to be comfortable and look presentable. Didn’t need all that fuss.
These new styles, with the tight pants and the bright colors, they just ain’t practical. A man needs clothes he can work in, clothes that can get dirty. Clothes that will last. Not fall apart first time you wash them.
