Meet the New Bottega Veneta Korean Ambassador, Details Here!

by Alice Browne

Alright, alright, let’s talk about this… uh… Bottega… Ven-eeta. Yeah, that fancy Italian name brand. And some Korean fella, they say he’s famous. They call him an “ambassador.” Sounds important, like he’s carrying messages or somethin’. But really, he’s just wearin’ their fancy clothes and bags, I reckon.

So, this fella, they call him “RM,” real name’s Kim Nam-joon, somethin’ like that. He’s part of that Korean boy band, you know, the ones all the young’uns are crazy about. Them fellas with the slick dance moves and the colorful hair. He’s one of ’em. And now he’s wearin’ Bottega Veneta. Good for him, I guess. Fancy clothes for a fancy boy.

I saw some pictures online, you know, on that Facebook thing my grandkid showed me. He’s wearin’ these… whatchamacallits… jackets, I guess, and holdin’ these purses… no, wait, they call ’em “bags” now. Big ones, small ones, leather ones, all sorts. Cost a pretty penny, I bet. More money than I’ve seen in my whole life, that’s for sure.

  • He looks alright, I guess. Clean-cut. Not like some of them young fellas with the ripped jeans and the hair all over their faces. This one looks presentable. Like he could go to church, or a fancy dinner, or somethin’.
  • And they say he’s a big deal in Korea. Well, good for him, I say. Every place has their famous folks, I reckon. We had that fella who won the pie-eatin’ contest at the county fair last year. He was kinda famous for a while.
  • This RM fella, he’s famous all over the world, they say. Hard to believe, ain’t it? A boy from Korea, sellin’ Italian bags. The world’s a strange place, that’s for sure.

This Bottega Veneta company, they must be smart. They get this famous fella to wear their stuff, and then everyone wants it. That’s how it works, I hear. It’s like when that movie star wore that fancy hat, and everyone went out and bought one just like it. Same thing here, I reckon. They call it “marketing” or somethin’. Sounds complicated, but it ain’t really. Just get a famous person to like your stuff, and you’re set.

And it ain’t just this RM fella, you know. There’s other Koreans wearin’ fancy brands, too. This girl, they call her Youngji Lee, she’s wearin’ Coach, whatever that is. And another girl, Suzy somethin’, she’s wearin’ Celine. And that fella from another boy band, Jimin, he’s wearin’ Dior and Tiffany. Lots of fancy names, hard to keep track of ‘em all. It’s like a whole army of Koreans wearin’ fancy clothes.

So, this Bottega Veneta and this RM fella, they’re a good match, I guess. He gets to wear fancy clothes, and they get to sell more bags. Everybody wins, right? Well, maybe not my pocketbook. I ain’t buyin’ no thousand-dollar bag, that’s for sure. I got better things to spend my money on. Like a good bag of flour or some seeds for the garden.

But hey, if you got the money and you wanna wear fancy clothes, go right ahead. It ain’t hurtin’ nobody. Just remember, it’s just clothes and bags. They don’t make you a better person or nothin’. Just a fancier lookin’ one. And that’s alright, I guess. As long as you’re happy and not hurtin’ nobody, you do you, I always say.

So, that’s the story of this Bottega Veneta and their Korean ambassador. A fancy fella wearin’ fancy clothes and sellin’ fancy bags. It’s a strange world, but that’s how it is. And as long as them Koreans keep wearin’ this stuff and them young folks keep buyin’ it, I guess everyone’s happy. Except maybe my old dog, he ain’t got no fancy clothes, just a plain old collar.

But he’s a good dog, and that’s all that matters, ain’t it?
