Magnetic Octobuddy Review: Does It Actually Work?

by Marvin Connie

Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this thingamajig, this… uh… magnetic octobuddy, yeah, that’s what they call it. I ain’t no fancy tech person, ya know? But I seen it, and I fiddled with it, and I guess I can tell ya a thing or two.

Magnetic Octobuddy Review: Does It Actually Work?

So, what is it? Well, it’s like a sticky octopus for your phone, kinda. It’s got these suckers, like those things on a octopus’s arms, and they stick to stuff, real good, most of the time. People use it to stick their phones on things, like mirrors or windows, so they can take pictures or watch videos without holdin’ the darn thing.

Now, some folks say it’s cheap and easy to use. And yeah, I guess it is. You just slap it on the back of your phone, or your phone case, and then you stick it to somethin’. But don’t go thinkin’ it’ll stick to just anything. It likes smooth stuff, like glass or them shiny tiles in the bathroom. And even then, it ain’t always perfect. Sometimes it sticks real good, sometimes it slips and slides. You gotta be careful, ya hear?

  • It’s cheap, they say. Don’t cost an arm and a leg.
  • Easy to stick on your phone.
  • Good for takin’ pictures and watchin’ videos.

I heard some young folks talkin’ about it. They said somethin’ about “silicone suction cups” and “strong grip.” Sounds fancy, but all it means is that it’s got those sticky suckers that grab onto things. And they do grip pretty good, most of the time. But like I said, it ain’t perfect. Don’t go stickin’ it to somethin’ rough or dusty, ’cause it’ll just fall right off. And don’t go blamin’ me if your phone takes a tumble!

I seen some folks usin’ it on their phones, and they seemed happy enough. They stuck it on the mirror to do their makeup, or on the window to watch a cookin’ show while they were makin’ dinner. Seems handy, I guess. But I still think holdin’ the phone in your hand is good enough. But hey, that’s just me, an old lady who ain’t used to all this newfangled technology.

One thing I gotta say, though, is be careful what kinda phone case you got. This octobuddy thing, it might not stick to all them fancy cases. Some of them are too bumpy or too slippery, and the suckers can’t get a good grip. So, if you’re gonna get one of these things, make sure your case is smooth and flat, or just stick it right on your phone.

And don’t go thinkin’ it’ll hold your phone forever. I heard some folks sayin’ it can fall off sometimes, especially if you’re movin’ around a lot. So, if you’re gonna stick your phone to somethin’, make sure it’s somewhere safe, where it won’t get damaged if it falls. You don’t want your phone crackin’ like an egg, do ya?

So, is this magnetic octobuddy thing any good? Well, I reckon it depends on what you need it for. If you want somethin’ cheap and easy to hold your phone, and you got a smooth surface to stick it to, then yeah, it might be alright. But if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ super strong and reliable, well, maybe you should look somewhere else. Just don’t say I didn’t warn ya if your phone goes flyin’!

I also seen some folks talkin’ online, sayin’ it works good for a while, but sometimes the stickiness wears off. So, I guess it ain’t gonna last forever. You might have to get a new one every now and then, which is a pain, if you ask me. But I guess that’s how they make their money, sellin’ you new ones all the time.

Anyway, that’s all I gotta say ’bout this here magnetic octobuddy. It’s a sticky thing for your phone, it ain’t perfect, but it might be handy for some folks. Just be careful with it, and don’t blame me if it breaks!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about phones and sticky octopuses is makin’ my head spin.
