Well, howdy there! Let’s talk about this “washing hands meme” thing, ya know? I ain’t no fancy city slicker, but even I know ya gotta wash yer hands. It’s just plain common sense, like not eatin’ with yer feet or somethin’.

I reckon it’s a good thing, this “meme” stuff gettin’ the word out. Back in my day, we just got yelled at by Ma if we didn’t wash up before supper. No fancy pictures needed!
So, what’s the big deal about washin’ hands anyway? Well, it’s like this. Ya touch all sorts of things all day long. Door handles, that money the government keeps sendin’ out for no reason, that there dog’s slobbery mouth, you name it. And all that stuff’s got germs on it. Tiny little critters ya can’t even see, but they can make ya sick as a dog. Washin’ hands gets rid of them germs, see? Keeps ya from gettin’ the sniffles or worse.
- First, ya get yer hands wet. Don’t be stingy with the water.
- Then, ya get some soap. Any kind’ll do, but the fancy smellin’ stuff is nice.
- Rub yer hands together real good. Get in between them fingers, under yer nails, everywhere. Like yer scrubbin’ pots and pans, but gentler.
- Keep rubbin’ for at least 20 seconds. That’s longer than ya think. Sing yer favorite song, count to twenty slow, whatever works.
- Rinse yer hands good. Get all that soap off.
- Dry yer hands with a clean towel, or let ’em air dry if ya got time. Ain’t nothin’ worse than washin’ yer hands good and then dryin’ ’em on a dirty towel. That’s just dumb.
Now, back to them memes. I seen some funny ones, I tell ya. One had this lady washin’ her hands like she was tryin’ to scrub the paint off a barn. Another one had a fella usin’ hand sanitizer like it was perfume. It’s all a bit silly, but if it gets folks washin’ their hands, then I reckon it’s a good thing. And there’s all these sayings like Wash Your Hands and Scrub The Germs Away, I’ve seen those on the TV.
These young’uns are always makin’ up new ways to do things. But some things never change. Washin’ hands is one of ’em. It’s been important since way back when, and it’s still important now. So, don’t be a dummy. Wash yer hands! It ain’t rocket science, ya know? And no matter what you wash with its better than wiping them on your pants that’s for sure, I mean who does that? Not me! And I haven’t gotten sick in a coons age so it must be working.
