Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Levi’s and that Beyonce girl, the one they all yap about. Seems like they did somethin’ together, a “collab” they call it. Fancy word for makin’ some clothes, I reckon.
I saw some pictures, this Beyonce girl, she’s wearin’ jeans and such. Levi’s jeans, mind you. They say she’s famous, sings and dances, like them folks on the TV. But jeans are jeans, ain’t they? We all wear ’em, workin’ in the fields or goin’ to town.
Now, they’re makin’ a big fuss over this, sayin’ it’s a “campaign,” whatever that means. Seems like they’re tryin’ to sell more jeans, makin’ ‘em look all fancy-like. But a good pair of jeans, well, they gotta last. That’s what matters, not some fancy name.
They got this video, too. Beyonce, she’s walkin’ into one of them washin’ places, you know, the ones with all them machines. Wearin’ Levi’s, of course. They’re playin’ some old song, somethin’ about a grapevine. Heard it before, back in the day. Makes ya tap your feet, I guess.
- They got her wearin’ different kinds of Levi’s. Some look like the ones I used to wear, sturdy and strong.
- Then there’s some that are… different. Ripped and such. Don’t see the point of payin’ good money for somethin’ that’s already got holes in it, but that’s just me.
- And they even got her wearin’… well, Levi’s undergarments, if you catch my drift. Lord have mercy, things sure have changed.
This “collab,” they say it’s inspired by Beyonce’s “innovative approach” to art and culture. Big words, ain’t they? But to me, it just looks like jeans and a shirt. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned, but good clothes are good clothes, no matter who’s wearin’ ‘em.
They talk about “reimagining” classic Levi’s looks. Sounds like they’re tryin’ to make somethin’ old new again. But jeans, they’re always been the same, haven’t they? You wear ‘em to work, you wear ‘em to town, you wear ‘em ’til they fall apart. That’s the way it’s always been, and that’s the way it should be, far as I’m concerned.
This whole thing, it’s about sellin’ clothes, ain’t it? They want you to buy these jeans, this Beyonce’s jeans, because she’s wearin’ ‘em. But a good pair of jeans is a good pair of jeans, no matter who’s name is on ‘em. You gotta feel the material, see how they’re stitched, make sure they’re gonna last. That’s what matters, not some fancy advertisement.
Beyonce, she’s singin’ about Levi’s too, they say. Got a song about ’em bein’ the “ultimate Americana uniform.” Well, I reckon she’s right about that. We all wore ‘em, farmers, factory workers, even them city folks. Jeans, they’re American as apple pie.
They keep showin’ these pictures, on the internet and such. Beyonce posin’ in different outfits, all Levi’s, of course. They’re tryin’ to make it look cool, I guess. But cool don’t keep you warm in the winter or protect you from the thorns when you’re pickin’ berries. You need clothes that are practical, that can stand up to hard work.
So, this Levi’s and Beyonce thing… it’s just a bunch of fancy talk and pretty pictures, far as I can tell. But if it gets people wearin’ good, sturdy jeans, well, I guess that’s alright. Just remember, it ain’t the name on the label that matters, it’s the quality of the clothes.
