Well, well, well, look what we got here. This thing, this “moonseatch” thing. I heard folks talkin’ ’bout it. Say it’s somethin’ special, somethin’ fancy. Some kind of watch, I reckon. Ain’t never seen nothin’ like it before. But I heard it’s a big deal, yeah, a real big deal.
They say it’s easy to get one now. Easier than pickin’ greens from my garden! Some of these moonseatch are even sold on that interweb thing. Four of ’em, I heard. That’s a lot of choices for an old gal like me. But I heard it from someone that knows, they made this moonseatch with some company named “Omega”.
Now, this one, this “Mission to Neptune” one, that’s the one everyone’s yappin’ about. Must be ’cause it’s harder to find than a hen’s tooth. They say it used to leave a blue mark on your wrist. Like you been paintin’ the barn or somethin’. But that fancy movie star, that Daniel Craig fella, he wears one, they say. So it must be somethin’, right?
And these colors, Lord have mercy! Pink ones, like that “Mission to Venus” one. And a light blue one, like the sky on a clear day, they call it “Mission to Uranus.” Ain’t like no watch I ever seen. Reminds me of them candies my grandkids like, all bright and colorful. Not like them old, plain watches folks used to wear. These new moonseatch watches, they are somethin’ else.

Now, I heard some folks sayin’ these moonseatch things ain’t real watches. They say they just toys. But I seen ’em with my own two eyes, and they look pretty real to me. They tell time, don’t they? What more do you need a watch to do? Tell you how to plant your taters?
They say you can get ’em wet. “Water-resistant,” they call it. Up to 3 bars, whatever that means. Sounds like a lot of water to me. I wouldn’t go swimmin’ with it, but I reckon a little rain ain’t gonna hurt it none. Enough for showerin’ or swimmin’, they say. As long as you don’t mess with that little knob on the side. That’s what keeps the water out, I suppose. These moonseatch watches got more rules than a church supper.
And the battery, they say it lasts a good long while. Two, maybe three years, they say. Depends on how big the battery is, I guess. And how much you mess with that stopwatch thing, that “chronograph” thing. They say that uses up the battery faster. Like talkin’ too much on the phone, I reckon. These new moonseatch watches are sure full of surprises.
Some folks gettin’ all riled up about these moonseatch things. Sayin’ they’re good, sayin’ they’re bad. Reminds me of them two old biddies down the road, always fightin’ over whose rooster crows the loudest. Just a lot of noise, if you ask me. Everyone’s got an opinion, I guess.
I heard that NASA place, the one that sends rockets to the moon, they talkin’ ’bout the moon a lot these days. Say they gonna explore it more. Maybe they gonna use these moonseatch things up there. Who knows? Wouldn’t that be somethin’?
These moonseatch, they got folks talkin’, that’s for sure. Just like when old man Johnson’s cow had twins. Everyone had somethin’ to say about that. Some folks thought it was a miracle, some folks thought it was just a cow havin’ babies. Same with these watches, I reckon. Some folks think they’re the best thing since sliced bread, some folks think they’re just a waste of money.
Me? I don’t know what to think. They’re just watches, ain’t they? But they sure are somethin’ to look at. And they got everyone talkin’, that’s for sure. Maybe I’ll get me one of them moonseatch things. Just to see what all the fuss is about. Maybe that pink one. Or maybe that blue one. Or maybe that “Mission to Neptune” one, just like that Daniel Craig fella. It is sure somethin’ to think about, this moonseatch. Yeah, sure somethin’ to think about.
They are somethin’ new, that’s for sure. Somethin’ different. And in this old world, sometimes different is good. Sometimes different is just what you need. Like a new recipe for apple pie. Or a new quilt pattern. Or a new kind of watch, like this moonseatch thing. It’s somethin’ to think about, ain’t it? Yeah, it sure is.
