Jordan shoes V IV III: A simple guide to the classic models

Well, you know, I ain’t never been one for fancy shoes, but I gotta say, them Jordan shoes, they sure are somethin’. My grandson, he’s always goin’ on about ’em. Says they’re the best things since sliced bread. I see ’em all over the place these days, and I figure, maybe I should learn a thing or two about these “Jordans”.

I hear folks talkin’ about different kinds, like the Jordan 4, the Jordan 3, the Jordan 5, it is so many numbers! It is hard to keep straight. I asked my grandson, “What’s the deal with all them numbers?” He just laughed, said each one is special. He told me the numbers mean which kind it is, like 1, 2, 3, like that.

  • Jordan 3, he says that’s an old one, but a good one.
  • Jordan 4, he says everyone wants them, I don’t know why they so expensive!
  • Jordan 5, he says that’s the one that looks like a, like a plane or somethin’.

He says a fella named Tinker, he made these shoes. Sounds like a made-up name to me, Tinker. But what do I know? This Tinker fella, he sure did make a lot of these shoes. He made the Jordan 3, and the Jordan 4, and the Jordan 5, and a whole bunch more, I reckon. My grandson, he says this Tinker fella is a big deal. Says he’s like the king of shoes or somethin’.

These shoes, they been around a long time. Longer than my grandson, that’s for sure. He told me they started way back, when that Jordan fella, the basketball player, was playin’. That’s Michael Jordan, the best to ever do it. Now I don’t know much about basketball, but I seen him on the TV. He could sure jump high! I guess that’s why they call ’em Jordan shoes, ’cause he could jump so high in ’em. These shoes came out in the 1980s, back when I was young and spry. My grandson told me 1984, 1985, somethin’ like that.

I saw some of these Jordan 5 shoes the other day, and they looked kinda strange. They got these pointy things on ’em, like a shark’s teeth or somethin’. My grandson told me, “No, those are from that X-15 plane thingy.” I said, “What in tarnation is an X-15?” He said it’s some fancy plane that goes real fast. I don’t see what that’s got to do with shoes, but whatever. It is from NASA, that space place.

Now, these Jordan 4, those are the ones everyone’s crazy about. I don’t know why, they just are. They’re more expensive than a month’s worth of groceries, I tell ya. My grandson, he saved up all his money to buy a pair. He says they are cool. He says they’re “iconic”. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds important.

I asked him, “Why are these Jordan 4 so darn expensive?” He said, “Well, they’re special.” Said they got a “heritage” and somethin’ about that Jordan fella, the basketball player, bein’ the best ever. I guess that makes sense. If somethin’s the best, it’s gonna cost ya. These came out in 1989, he said. That is a long time ago.

These Jordan 3, they’re old too, I reckon. They came before the Jordan 4, that much I know. My grandson, he don’t have a pair of these, but he says they’re still good shoes. He says they are a “classic”. He is always using these words. Classic, iconic, what does it all mean?

These shoes, they ain’t just shoes anymore. They’re like, like a fashion thing. I see folks wearin’ ’em all dressed up, like they’re goin’ to a party or somethin’. Back in my day, shoes were for walkin’, not for showin’ off. But I guess times change. People like to look good, and these Jordan shoes, they sure do make a statement. My grandson, he says they are stylish and you can wear them for basketball or just walking around. He says they are good for performance. I don’t know what that is, but I guess it means they are good for running and jumping.

I reckon these Jordan shoes, they ain’t goin’ anywhere anytime soon. They’re like a, like a big old tree with deep roots. They been around forever, and they’re gonna keep on keepin’ on. My grandson, he’s already talkin’ about the next ones comin’ out. He says there is gonna be a Jordan 35 or somethin’. I can’t keep up! There is just too many of them!

Well, I guess that’s all I got to say about them Jordan shoes. They’re somethin’ else, that’s for sure. They’re expensive, they’re fancy, and everyone seems to love ’em. Maybe I’ll get my grandson to get me a pair someday. Just to see what all the fuss is about. Maybe a nice pair of them Jordan 4, if I can afford ’em!
