Okay, so, “boss the night” – what’s that even mean? I figured it’s about being productive and feeling good before bed, right? So, I decided to give it a shot. Here’s how it went down.

First thing I did, and this was actually yesterday before I left work, I wrote down everything I needed to get done today. Just a simple to-do list. Nothing fancy, but it felt good to have it all mapped out before I even got home.
Then, once I was actually home, instead of just crashing on the couch and scrolling through my phone, I made myself a real to-do list for tomorrow. This is the stuff I could get a head start on, you know? I even added a few personal things like going to the gym, just so it wasn’t all work, work, work.
- Write tomorrow’s to-do list
- Do some reading
- Go to the gym
- Relax without screens
After that, I actually spent some time reflecting on my day. Not like, deep meditation or anything, but just thinking about what went well and what could have been better. I even jotted down a couple of notes in my journal – just to get it out of my head, you know?
The hardest part? Putting my phone away. But I did it! I switched it to “do not disturb” and actually read a real book for like, an hour. It was tough at first, but honestly, I felt way more relaxed afterward.
My Results
So, did I “boss the night”? I think so! I woke up this morning feeling way more prepared and less stressed than usual. Knocking a few things off my list last night made a huge difference. I didn’t feel like I was scrambling to catch up. Plus, I think I actually slept better because I wasn’t staring at a screen right before bed.

I’m definitely going to try to keep this up. It’s not about being super productive every single night, but just taking a little bit of time to set myself up for a better tomorrow. And hey, if it means I get to feel like a boss, even for a little bit, I’m all for it!
