So, I’ve been seeing these awesome bracelets all over Pinterest lately, and I decided, why not give it a shot? They’re inspired by the Chiefs, and I thought it would be fun to make some myself. I’m no expert, but hey, it’s all about having a good time, right?
Getting Started
First off, I needed some ideas. I browsed through Pinterest, and there are tons of cool designs out there. I mean, seriously, people are so creative! I saw some with traditional Native American motifs, which I thought were really neat. I decided to go with something simple, using those disc beads I saw online. They’re called Heishi beads, apparently. They seemed easy enough to work with, and I liked the colors.
Gathering Supplies
Next up, I needed to get my hands on some supplies. I found a bunch of online stores selling beads and stuff, but I ended up going to a local craft store. I grabbed some 6mm polymer clay disc beads in red and yellow, some spacer beads, and white acrylic beads. Oh, and I made sure to get some elastic cord, too, ’cause you know, it needs to stretch. I spent way too long picking out colors, but whatever, it was fun.
Making the Bracelets
Okay, so, putting the bracelets together was a bit trickier than I thought. It’s not rocket science, but it does take some patience. I started by laying out the beads in different patterns. I wanted to make a set of six stackable bracelets, so I played around with the colors and the order of the beads until I was happy with how they looked. I even put my name on one of the bracelets by using those white acrylic beads, just to make it a bit more personal, you know?
Threading the beads onto the elastic cord was a bit fiddly, especially those tiny spacer beads. My fingers felt huge! But I got the hang of it eventually. I tied a few knots at the end of each bracelet, and hoped it will hold. I guess we’ll see how they hold up over time.
The Final Result
After a few hours of beading, I finally finished my set of Chiefs bracelets! They turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. They’re not perfect, but I’m proud of them. I’ve been wearing them around, and I’ve gotten a few compliments, which is always nice. It’s a cool way to show my love for the Chiefs, and it’s fun to have something I made myself.
