Clothes That Make You Look Like Night

You gotta like that dark music, too. That music they play at them goth clubs. It’s kinda spooky, kinda sad, but it’s good, you know? It makes ya feel things. You ain’t gonna be no goth if you’re listenin’ to that happy-go-lucky stuff. Nope, you gotta like the dark stuff, the stuff that makes you think about… well, about dark things. If you do not like music, maybe you can not be a goth. I think you have to like that.
Accessorize Like You Mean It
Okay, so you got the clothes, you got the attitude, you got the music. What else? Well, you can add some stuff to your look. Some folks like to wear jewelry. Big, silver rings, maybe a necklace with a cross or somethin’. Some folks like to paint their nails black. That’s a good one, too. Makes ya look real goth.
And then there’s the hair. Some goths like to dye their hair black, too. Or maybe purple, or red, somethin’ wild. I seen some goths with hair all different colors. They look like a dang rainbow, but a dark one, you know? If you wanna dye your hair, you go right ahead. But it ain’t necessary. You can be goth with any hair color, long as you got that goth spirit.

Be Yourself, But Be Dark About It
See, being goth is about being yourself, just a darker version of yourself. Like when you lose your favorite hen and you’re sad, that feel is goth. You know that feel. You don’t have to pretend to be somethin’ you’re not. Just be you, but embrace the darkness. Like the shadows in the corners of the barn, or the feelin’ you get when the sun goes down and it’s just you and the crickets. That’s goth. It is sad and also dark.
It Ain’t About Being Mean
Now, some folks think goths are mean or scary. But that ain’t true. Most goths I know are real nice folks. They just like dark stuff, that’s all. They ain’t out to hurt nobody. So don’t go around actin’ all mean just ’cause you’re wearin’ black. That ain’t what it’s about. Be nice, be respectful, just be… goth. It is okay. Do not be mean, you will look like a fool.
Find Your Goth Friends
It’s always good to have friends who are into the same stuff as you. If you can find some other goths, that’s great. You can go to them goth clubs together, listen to that dark music, talk about all that goth stuff. It’s more fun when you got friends to share it with.
But even if you can’t find no other goths, that’s okay. You can still be goth on your own. It ain’t about bein’ popular, it’s about bein’ yourself. Just like when you’re out in the fields, all by yourself, and you’re just thinkin’ your own thoughts. That’s goth, too.
Just Do Your Thing, Honey
So there you have it. That’s my advice on how to be a goth. It ain’t rocket science, is it? Just wear black, listen to that dark music, be yourself, and don’t be afraid of the shadows. And remember, it ain’t about what other folks think, it’s about what you feel inside. You do you, honey. You be the best goth you can be. And if anyone gives you any trouble, you just tell ’em that old lady told you it was okay.
