Alright, let’s talk about this Henry Rose Torn perfume, you know, the one them fancy folks are yappin’ about. I ain’t no perfume expert, mind you, but I got a nose, and I can tell ya if somethin’ smells good or if it smells like a barnyard.
First off, this Fragrantica place, they say it “melts with the skin.” Now, I ain’t sure what that means exactly, but I reckon it means it smells good on ya, like it belongs there. And I gotta say, they ain’t wrong. This here perfume, it ain’t like them cheap drugstore sprays that smell like bug spray and fake flowers. This one, it’s got somethin’ to it.
Somebody said it’s like a “diet TF Black Orchid.” I don’t know who this TF fella is or what his black orchid smells like, but this Torn stuff, it’s strong but not too strong, you know? It’s got a sweetness to it, but it ain’t like candy. It’s more like… like a flower that’s been growin’ in the sun all day and smells kinda spicy, kinda sweet, kinda earthy, all mixed up together.
They say it’s got vetiver and patchouli in it, and somethin’ called “freesia” too. Vetiver, that sounds like somethin’ you’d find growin’ by the creek, and patchouli, well, that’s what them hippies used to wear, if I remember right. And freesias? I ain’t never heard of them, but they must smell nice cause this perfume, it does smell nice.
- Smells good: Like sunshine and spice and flowers all mixed up.
- Not too strong: It won’t knock you over like some of them fancy perfumes.
- Long-lastin’: You put a little on in the mornin’, and it’ll still be there in the afternoon.
Now, someone was talkin’ about how it’s got, I dunno, 39 other things in it? Well, I ain’t countin’ but I can tell ya, it all blends together real nice. It ain’t just one smell hittin’ you in the face, it’s a whole bunch of smells workin’ together.
Then there’s this Queen & Monsters they talk about. Says it’s got sandalwood. Sandalwood, that’s that fancy wood smell, right? I like that smell. Reminds me of them old chests my grandma used to have. But this Torn perfume, it ain’t so much woody as it is…well, it’s hard to explain. It’s just… nice. Makes ya wanna sniff your own arm all day.
This fella Pfeiffer, or maybe it’s a gal, says it’s about “summer sunsets.” I reckon that’s right. It does smell kinda warm and golden, like when the sun’s goin’ down and everything’s all peaceful and quiet. It ain’t like them sharp, green smells, it’s more rounded and soft. You know, like a warm blanket on a cool evenin’.
They mention vanilla bean too, and somethin’ about it bein’ earthy and floral at the same time. Well, I ain’t never smelled a vanilla bean that wasn’t sweet, but this ain’t just sweet. It’s got that somethin’ else to it, that earthiness, that spice. It’s complicated, like life, I guess.
And roses! It’s got roses in it too, they say. But it ain’t like them old-lady rose perfumes that smell like a funeral parlor. This rose, it’s mixed in with all them other things, so it just adds a little bit of sweetness and somethin’…romantic, maybe? I don’t know, but it smells good.
So, all in all, this Henry Rose Torn, it’s a good perfume. It ain’t cheap, I bet, but if you wanna smell nice and fancy, this might be the one for you. It smells like sunshine and spice and flowers and everything nice. And it lasts all day, which is more than I can say for some things. It definitely ain’t like them cheap sprays from the dollar store. This here’s the real deal, I reckon.
If you’re lookin’ for a special occasion smell or just want to feel a bit fancy when you’re doin’ chores, give this Torn stuff a try. Just don’t spray too much, you don’t want to choke the chickens.
Now I gotta go make some supper. But I’ll be thinkin’ about this perfume, that’s for sure. It’s got me feelin’ all… I don’t know… fancy! Maybe I’ll even wear a little bit when I go to bingo next week.
Anyway, that’s my two cents on this here perfume. You take it or leave it. But if you see it at the store, give it a sniff. You might just like it.
