Grillz on People: Get Inspired (Celebrity Looks & More)

by Adelaide Davy

Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “grillz on people” photos popping up everywhere, and I gotta admit, I was curious. I mean, they look kinda cool, kinda crazy, and I wanted to see if I could pull it off myself – even just for a goofy photo.

First, I did a little digging. I wasn’t about to put anything permanent on my teeth, obviously. I found out there are a bunch of different kinds, from the super cheap ones you can get online to custom-made ones that cost a fortune. I opted for something in the middle – a “one-size-fits-all” set that looked reasonably decent.

Next step, I ordered the grillz. They arrived a few days later, and I have to say, I was a little intimidated. They looked…bigger…than I expected. Shiny, too. Very shiny.

The Fitting Process (aka The Struggle)

So, the instructions said something about boiling water and molding the grillz to my teeth. Sounds easy enough, right? Wrong.

  • First, I boiled some water. That part was easy.
  • Then, I dropped the grillz into the hot water for the recommended time. Again, not rocket science.
  • But then came the tricky part. I took them out (carefully, with tongs, because they were HOT) and tried to fit them onto my teeth.

Let me tell you, it was a comedy of errors. They kept slipping, sliding, and generally refusing to cooperate. I felt like I was wrestling with a tiny, shiny alligator. I nearly burned my gums a couple of times, and I definitely mumbled a few choice words under my breath. It get it all tryied so many times.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I managed to get them sort of in place. They weren’t perfect, by any means. They felt a little bulky, and I definitely couldn’t close my mouth all the way. But hey, they were on!

The Photo Shoot (and the Aftermath)

I grabbed my phone and started snapping pictures. I tried to look tough, cool, maybe a little bit gangster. I think I mostly looked like I was trying not to drool. My friends, who were watching this whole process, were absolutely losing it. They said all kinds of words to tease me.

After a few minutes, I took the grillz out. My teeth felt a little weird, and I was definitely glad to be able to close my mouth again.

So, that was my grillz adventure. Would I wear them out in public? Probably not. Was it a fun experiment? Absolutely. I’ve got the pictures to prove it, and a pretty good story to tell. If you want a funny memory, go try it!
