Well, let me tell you, I’ve been seeing these crochet bohemian vests everywhere lately. They look so fancy and complicated, but I bet I could figure one out. I’m gonna try to make one for myself, yeah, a free crochet bohemian vest pattern, that’s what I need. No need to buy one when you got two hands and some yarn, right?

I reckon it ain’t too hard. Just gotta find the right crochet pattern. Maybe one with them, what do you call ’em? Dangly things at the bottom? Oh yeah, fringe! A bohemian vest with fringe, that’s the ticket. I saw a lady wearing one the other day, looked real nice. She was all dressed up, but I think you could wear one of these vests with just about anything.
Gotta Find Some Yarn
First things first, gotta get me some yarn. I got a whole bunch of leftover yarn from that blanket I made last winter. Might have some that’ll work for this crochet vest. Need something soft, but not too fuzzy. Maybe that brown yarn, or that cream-colored one. Hmm, decisions, decisions. If I ain’t got enough, I reckon I can always get more. You can find yarn everywhere these days, even online, but I like to see it up close, feel it in my hands, you know?
What Kind of Stitch?
Now, what kind of stitch should I use for this bohemian vest? I know the basic ones, like single crochet and double crochet. But maybe there’s a fancier stitch that would look good. Something open and airy, like a mesh, maybe? A long crochet mesh vest, yeah, that sounds about right. I saw a picture of one like that, looked real pretty. I bet it wouldn’t be too hot to wear, either, even in the summer.
I reckon I could just start with a big rectangle, then somehow make some holes for my arms. Maybe I’ll just wing it. That’s how I learned to crochet in the first place, just by trying things out. If it don’t work, well, I can always rip it out and start over. No harm in that. I can use my crochet hooks, I got a whole bunch of those. Different sizes, too. That’s important, gotta have the right size hook for the yarn.
Making It Look Fancy
To make it real bohemian, I gotta add some of that fringe I was talking about. Maybe some beads, too? I got a whole jar of old buttons and beads I been saving. Could sew some of those on there. Or maybe some of them little shells, that’d be pretty. Make it look like I just walked off the beach or something, ha!

- Find a free crochet bohemian vest pattern online.
- Choose yarn – maybe brown or cream.
- Pick a stitch – maybe an open mesh stitch.
- Add fringe and maybe beads or shells.
- Try it on and see how it looks!
I’m gonna search online, see if I can find a free pattern for one of these bohemian vests. There’s gotta be something out there. I seen all kinds of things online, patterns for everything. Maybe I’ll find a video, too. That would be real helpful. I like watching someone else do it first, makes it easier to follow along.
This is gonna be my new project. I’m excited to get started. I can picture myself wearing it now, all proud of myself for making it myself. It’ll be one-of-a-kind, that’s for sure. Nobody else will have one just like it. That’s the best part about making things yourself, you can make them however you want.
If I get this crochet vest done, maybe I’ll make another one. Might try a different color, or a different stitch. The possibilities are endless! This could be my new thing. Maybe I’ll even start selling them, ha! Wouldn’t that be something? I could use a little extra spending money.
Just Gotta Try
You never know until you try, right? That’s what I always say. Might as well give it a shot. Worst that can happen is I end up with a pile of yarn and a whole lot of nothing. But I don’t think that’ll happen. I’m pretty good with my hands. And I got a good feeling about this bohemian vest. I think it’s gonna turn out real nice.
I’m gonna go dig out that yarn now and see what I can find. Then I’ll get on that computer and look for a free pattern. Wish me luck! I’ll let you know how it goes. Maybe I’ll even take a picture of it when it’s all done. That way you can see how it turned out. Alright, time to get crocheting!
