This here movie, Longlegs, it’s a real doozy. They say it’s gonna be in them picture houses July 12th, 2024. I heard folks talkin’, sayin’ it’s one of them horror movies. And this fella, Osgood Perkins, he’s the one who made it. Heard he made other scary ones before. Sounds like a real scary thing, this Longlegs movie.
They say this Longlegs is about some bad guy, a serial killer, they call ’em. Sounds awful, don’t it? This Osgood fella, he wrote it and directed it, whatever that means. Just makes me think of a show at the county fair. But this is supposed to be real scary, not like them silly clowns.
2024, they say, is full of them horror movies. But this Longlegs, everyone’s talkin’ ’bout it. Like when Agnes got her new dentures, couldn’t hear the end of it. This one’s got folks all riled up, sayin’ it’s the scariest one yet. Some new horror film. It got a good rating on that Rotten Tomatoes thing. All the critics and folks love it.
They got some big names in it too. Nicolas Cage, I seen him in somethin’ once. And this Maika Monroe, and Alicia Witt. Sounds like a Hollywood bunch, don’t it? They made a trailer for this Longlegs. One of them previews they show before the main picture. Supposed to get you all excited. It is a scary trailer for sure.

They got these things, they call ’em teasers and posters. This NEON, they put them out. Show little bits of the movie, try to get you hooked. Like when they give out free samples at the grocery store. It is a new teaser for sure. Just enough to make you want more, I reckon. Heard it called the scariest movie of the decade and I gotta say, they marketing it good, and scary!
This Osgood fella, they say he’s a good filmmaker. He knows how to scare ya. This Longlegs, it ain’t about things you understand. It’s about the things you can’t explain. The things that ain’t human. That’s what’s really scary, ain’t it? The real terrors they say. I do not understand it but it sounds scary.
They talkin’ ’bout jump scares in this Longlegs movie. Things that make you jump outta your seat. Like when a mouse runs across the floor. This Osgood, he knows how to do it right, they say. Makes you think somethin’s gonna happen, then BAM! Somethin’ else gets ya. Keeps you on your toes, like when you’re waitin’ for the rooster to crow in the mornin’. They say it got genuine scares. Sounds like it will catch you off guard.
They say this Longlegs name, it don’t mean nothin’. Just sounded good to that Osgood fella. Like calling a dog Spot. This Nicolas Cage character, he has a weird name and they don’t explain it. Makes it more mysterious like. That’s what they’re sayin’.
And the background, they say that’s important too. What you see in the back of the picture. Keeps you scared the whole time. Like when you hear noises in the barn at night. You don’t know what’s makin’ ’em, but you know it ain’t good.
This Longlegs, it sounds like a real humdinger. They even monitoring that Maika Monroe’s heart rate to see how scared she is. Somethin’ ’bout a secretive performance from that Nicolas Cage. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but I reckon it’s all part of the show.
Well, I don’t know ’bout you, but I’m gettin’ the heebie-jeebies just thinkin’ ’bout it. Might have to sleep with the lights on after hearin’ all this. This Longlegs, it sounds like a real nightmare. But if you like that sort of thing, maybe you’ll wanna see it. Just don’t say I didn’t warn ya. It is going to be in theaters July 12th, 2024. It is for sure going to be a scary movie.
