My oh my, this here controvesial runway themes, it’s a real head-scratcher, ain’t it? Like, what in the tarnation is goin’ on with these fancy folks and their clothes? I seen some things in my day, but some of this stuff, it just plain baffles me.

Now, I ain’t no fashion expert, you see. I’m more of a “wear what’s comfy and keeps you warm” kinda gal. But even I can tell when somethin’s just…off. Like that time they had them models walkin’ down that there runway, lookin’ like they just rolled outta bed. Clothes all wrinkled and mismatched. They call it “fashion,” but I call it a mess! Controversial runway themes, that is what it is.

And then there’s them themes they come up with. One time it was all about, like, robots or somethin’. Had folks wearin’ metal and wires and what have you. Looked like they were gonna get electrocuted! Another time, they had ’em all dressed up like they were from another planet. All shiny and sparkly, like a bunch of Christmas ornaments. Goodness gracious, what’s wrong with a nice dress or a pair of pants? Runway got nothing on normal, I tell ya.

  • That one time, remember, they had that fella, what’s his name… Lenny Kravitz, wearin’ a shirt with no back? Backless, they called it. Now, I ain’t one to judge, but what in the world is a man doin’ wearin’ a shirt with no back? Is he hot? Is he cold? Make up your mind, son!
  • And that Kim Kardashian wearin’ some dead princess’s necklace. Princess Diana, that’s the one. Now, I don’t know much about royalty, but that just seems disrespectful, don’t it? Lettin’ some TV gal prance around in a dead woman’s jewels. Lord have mercy.
  • They had these girls, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, walkin’ around, showin’ more skin than a peeled potato. I swear, these young folks today. No shame, no shame at all. Back in my day, we covered up! Didn’t need to show everything to get attention.

Sometimes they do some stuff that makes you think, “Well, ain’t that somethin’.” Like they’ll use old clothes or scraps to make new things. That’s kinda neat, I reckon. Recycling and all that. But then they go and charge a fortune for it! Like that Dolce and Gabbana, whoever they are. Made some folks real mad with some show they put on. It is said that it is a controvesial runway theme. That Great Show thing. Who knew clothes could make people so riled up?

These runway shows, they’re like a whole different world. They got all these fancy lights and music, and folks clappin’ for clothes that look like they came outta a dumpster. It’s a sight to see, I’ll give ’em that. But it just don’t make a lick of sense to me. Why would you spend all that money to be the controvesial runway themes when you can just go to the store and buy somethin’ normal?

They say these themes are supposed to make you think. Well, they sure do make me think. They make me think these folks have lost their minds! Wearin’ shoes that look like they’re made outta rubber, and clothes that look like they’re held together with safety pins. It’s a crazy world out there, I tell ya. Some designer don’t even go to school for it. One of them is a fella who started Prada or something. I do not know why people like it so much.

And don’t even get me started on them hats! Big hats, little hats, hats with feathers, hats with horns… I saw one that looked like a bird’s nest! What are they gonna do, lay an egg in it? These controvesial runway themes, I swear, they’re just tryin’ to outdo each other. See who can come up with the craziest, most ridiculous thing. But you know what, people like this and talk about this.

  • They got these fancy names for these themes too. “Punk” somethin’ or other. Like a bunch of kids causin’ trouble. “Chaos,” they called it. Well, that’s one word for it.
  • They even have these shows for rich folks, where they all dress up in their fanciest getups. The Met Gala, they call it. I saw pictures once. Looked like a costume party gone wild.
  • And the things they put on these poor models. Sometimes they look like they’re starvin’ to death. All skin and bones. Someone needs to give those girls a good meal!

I guess some folks like this kinda thing. They like to be shocked and surprised. They like to see somethin’ different. Me? I like things simple. Give me a nice, comfy dress and a pair of sturdy shoes, and I’m happy as a clam. These controvesial runway themes, they’re just too much for me. Too much fuss, too much feathers, too much… everything! But hey, to each their own, I suppose. If they wanna walk around lookin’ like a bunch of peacocks, who am I to stop ’em? Just don’t expect me to understand it, that’s all.

I reckon there’s a place for all kinds of things in this world. Even crazy clothes and silly hats. But for me, I’ll stick to the basics. And I’ll keep shakin’ my head at these controvesial runway themes, wonderin’ what in the world they’ll come up with next. It’s a never-endin’ show, that’s for sure. And I got a front-row seat, whether I like it or not!
