Cinnabar Fragrance: What is it and Where to Find it?

by Tan161130.

Okay, so I’ve been wanting to try making a cinnabar fragrance for a while now. I finally took the plunge and here is what happened.

Cinnabar Fragrance: What is it and Where to Find it?

First, I gathered all my materials. I got some cinnabar powder, obviously. I mean, you can’t make a cinnabar fragrance without it, duh! Then, I got some essential oils. I went with a mix of sandalwood, rose, and a touch of frankincense. I thought they would give it a warm, mystical kind of vibe. Oh, and I also grabbed some carrier oil, which for me, I like to go with jojoba oil, it is just easier.

Mixing It Up

Next, I started mixing. To be honest, I just kinda winged it. I put a small amount of the cinnabar powder into a little dish. I’m not gonna lie, the powder looked pretty cool, all bright red and stuff.

Then, I added a few drops of each essential oil. I went slow with this, adding a little, sniffing, and then adding a bit more. I didn’t want to overdo it with any one scent. It’s like cooking, you can always add more, but you can’t take it out, right?

After that, I poured in some of the jojoba oil. I mixed everything together with a small spatula until it formed a smooth paste. This part was kinda messy, but hey, that’s part of the fun!

The Final Product

  • It smells amazing! It’s warm, and earthy.
  • Super satified I did this DIY project.

Finally, I transferred the mixture into a small, dark glass bottle. I heard it’s best to store it in a dark place to keep the oils from degrading. I let it sit for a few days to let the scents blend together even more.

I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out! DIY projects like this are my thing. I might experiment with different essential oils next time, maybe add some myrrh or amber. Who knows! That’s the beauty of making your own stuff – you can totally customize it to your liking.
