You know, these days, everyone’s talkin’ ’bout Gucci. My granddaughter, she’s always on that phone of hers, showin’ me pictures. Says it’s what all the big shots are wearin’. Celebs in Gucci, she calls it. Well, I seen some of them pictures, and I gotta say, some of it’s right fancy. Some of it, I wouldn’t be caught dead in, but hey, to each their own, right?
This one fella, Harry Styles, he seems to like them Gucci clothes a whole lot. My granddaughter says he always wears them clothes. He wears them bright colored suits and them feathery things ’round his neck. Now, I ain’t one for them feathery things, but he seems to like ’em. He’s a singer, I reckon. He looks happy in them Gucci clothes. Good for him.
Then there’s this other one, she’s a singer too, Rihanna. That’s what my granddaughter says. She wears all sorts of Gucci stuff. Gucci shoes, Gucci bags, even a whole Gucci outfit, like them runners wear. All covered in Gucci, she was. I saw it in a picture on my granddaughter’s phone. She was wearin’ this shiny Gucci outfit from head to toe. Sparkly, it was. She sure likes her Gucci.
And that Jared Leto, he’s another one. Seems like he threw out all his other clothes and just wears Gucci now. My granddaughter told me. He’s in the movies, I think. He must really love that Gucci stuff. Maybe they give it to him for free, all them fancy clothes. I wouldn’t mind some free clothes.
There was this other lady, Serena Williams. She plays that tennis game. She’s real good at it, too. I seen her on the TV. Anyways, she wears them Gucci dresses when she goes to them fancy parties. She looks real nice in ’em, I gotta say. Fancy Gucci dresses for a fancy lady. That’s what she is.

My granddaughter, she told me Gucci is real expensive. Costs a whole lot of money. More money than I ever seen in my life, probably. She says it’s ’cause it’s fancy, and all them big stars wear it. Makes it special, I guess. They use them stars to sell the clothes. Smart, ain’t it?
They had this one fella, David Bowie, my granddaughter said he was real famous, but he’s gone now. He used to wear Gucci. And this other lady, Alicia Keys, she sings real pretty. She wears Gucci, too. Lots of singers wear that Gucci, don’t they? And another lady, Florence somebody. Never heard of her before, but she wears Gucci, too. All of them wear Gucci.
I asked my granddaughter who started all this Gucci business. She told me some fella named Guccio Gucci. Born a long time ago, she said. In Italy, I reckon. Then he went to London, wherever that is. He’s the one who started it. Made a lot of money, I bet. Gucci this, Gucci that, everywhere you look.
They got Gucci shoes, Gucci purses, Gucci clothes, Gucci everything. You name it, they got it in Gucci. I reckon if you got the money, you can wear Gucci all the time. Must be nice. If I had the money maybe I’d wear Gucci, too.
But, you know, clothes are clothes. As long as they keep you warm and cover you up, that’s all that matters, right? Still, them Gucci clothes sure are somethin’ to look at. All them colors and sparkles. And them big stars wearin’ ’em. Makes you feel like you’re part of somethin’ special, I guess, wearin’ Gucci. Or at least that’s how my granddaughter says she feels about Gucci. I don’t know, maybe she’s right. I guess when you see all these celebs in Gucci, it makes you want to be like them.
I remember my old dress, the one with the flowers. Wore that dress for years. Didn’t cost much, but I loved it. Maybe that’s what it’s like with these Gucci clothes. People just love ’em, I guess. And if them big stars are wearin’ ’em, then everyone else wants to wear ’em, too. That’s just how it is, I reckon. These celebs in Gucci, they sure do have a lot of pull, don’t they?
