Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this here Beyonce dress lemonade thing.
You know, that there Beyonce, she’s a singer, a real fancy one. And lemonade? That’s just what you drink when it’s hot out, sweet and sour, you know? But this ain’t about no drink, not really. It’s about a dress, a yeller dress, like the sun, but fancy-like.
This all started back in 2016, or so they say. I don’t rightly remember, time flies when you gettin’ old. Anyways, Beyonce, she made this movie thing, called it “Lemonade.” And in it, she wore this dress. A Roberto Cavalli dress, they say. Sounds foreign, huh? Must’ve cost a pretty penny. It was yeller, bright yeller, like a sunflower, and it flowed all around her, like she was walkin’ on air.
Now, I ain’t never seen nothin’ like it, not in real life, anyways. But them city folk, them celebrities, they wear all sorts of strange things. And after Beyonce wore that dress, seems like everybody wanted one. Not that I’d ever wear one, too fancy for me.
They started callin’ it a “lemonade dress.” Guess it’s ’cause of the movie, and the color, maybe? I don’t rightly know. But all them fancy ladies, the ones on TV and in magazines, they started wearin’ yeller dresses too. Blake Lively, Kate Middleton, that Lupita gal, and even Beyonce’s sister, Solange. All wearin’ somethin’ yeller, all fancy lookin’.
This yellow dress trend really caught on. It was everywhere. Short dresses, long dresses, flowy dresses, tight dresses. All yeller, all kinds. And it wasn’t just any yeller, mind you. It was a special kind of yeller, they called it “marigold.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? Like a flower, I guess.
- First, there’s the color. It gotta be that bright, sunshine yeller, that marigold color.
- Second, it’s gotta be flowy. You know, like it moves when you walk. Makes you feel like you dancin’ even when you just standin’ still.
- And third, well, it just gotta make you feel good. Like you puttin’ on somethin’ special.
I heard tell that one time, this model, Winnie Harlow, she was in that “Lemonade” movie thing too. And she said she even swapped shoes with Beyonce! Can you imagine? Swappin’ shoes with a big star like that? She also said her husband, Jonas somethin’-or-other, was the inspiration for her look, whatever that means.
Now, me, I ain’t no fashion expert. I like a good pair of overalls and a sturdy shirt, somethin’ I can work in. But even I can see that this here lemonade dress was somethin’ special. It made folks happy, made ’em feel pretty, made ’em wanna twirl around. And ain’t nothin’ wrong with that. It’s just a dress, I know, but sometimes, a dress can be more than just a dress. It can be a feelin’, a memory, a way to make yourself feel like a star, even if you just a plain ol’ woman like me.
So, that’s the story of the Beyonce dress lemonade, as best as I can tell it. A yeller dress, a movie, and a whole lotta fuss. But hey, sometimes a little fuss ain’t so bad. Especially when it’s bright and sunny and makes you smile, just like a glass of lemonade on a hot summer day. And that dress, well, it was like sunshine you could wear.
