My boy, he got one big bag. They call it, what, Kid Super Louis Vuitton. He say it cost more than our old cow. I don’t know, these young folks and their fancy things. But he sure is happy with it. Carry it everywhere, he does.

Kid Super
This bag, it got all them little pictures on it. Little faces, all smushed together. I seen them on the TV, them fancy people carrying them. He calls this here bag a Kid Super. It is big enough to stuff a whole chicken in, I tell ya.
He says it’s special, this Kid Super Louis Vuitton. Says it’s gonna be worth more later. I told him, “Boy, you better take care of it then!” He just laughs. Kids these days.
It’s all brown and got them little LV things all over it. LV, that’s what he says. My old eyes can barely see ’em. I guess it’s somethin’ special, them LV’s. This one is more special, this “Kid Super” thing. Got them little faces. He told me, he can’t use it for just anything. Gotta keep it nice and clean. I tell ya, these young people.

Louis Vuitton
He says it’s a Louis Vuitton, this bag. I heard that name before. That’s that fancy store in the city, ain’t it? The one with all them bright lights and shiny floors. They got all sorts of things in there, all cost more than my whole house, I bet.
I seen them rich folks carryin’ them Louis Vuitton bags. All prim and proper, they are. My boy, he ain’t like that. But he got this Kid Super Louis Vuitton now, so I guess he thinks he’s fancy too. He’s a good boy, though. Works hard. Deserves somethin’ nice, I suppose.

This bag, it’s got a long strap too. He can sling it over his shoulder. I told him, “Don’t you go losing that now!” He just rolls his eyes. Teenagers! But he holds onto it tight. I think he really likes it, this Kid Super Louis Vuitton.
I don’t understand all this fuss about a bag. But if it makes him happy, then I guess it’s alright. He says it’s an investment. Like plantin’ seeds, he says. You put your money in, and it grows. I don’t know about all that. I just know it’s a mighty expensive bag.
Kid Super and Louis Vuitton
He says this Kid Super, it’s some fella who makes these designs. Puts them on the Louis Vuitton bags. Makes ’em different, he says. Unique. I guess that’s why it costs so much. It ain’t just a regular bag. It’s a Kid Super Louis Vuitton.
I seen some other bags too, he showed me on that little computer thing. They got all sorts of colors and pictures. Some of them is real wild-looking. But he likes this one with the little faces. He said it’s special. One of a kind, he told me. I think it costed him 40% more. I don’t know what that means but sounds like a lot.
I still don’t understand it, this whole Kid Super Louis Vuitton thing. But it’s his money. He can spend it how he wants. He’s a good boy. Works hard. And he’s happy. That’s all that matters, ain’t it?

He says people buy and sell these bags, like we do with cows at the market. It’s crazy what people do with their money. I told him, “You be careful now. Don’t get mixed up in nothin’ shady.” He said I worried too much. This one is a KidSuper Portrait Keepall Bandouliere 55. I don’t know what that means but it sure sounds important.
This Kid Super Louis Vuitton, it’s more than just a bag, he says. It’s a piece of art. I guess I can see that, in a way. Them little faces, all lookin’ different. All tellin’ a story, maybe. Like them old quilts my mama used to make. Each patch a memory.
Maybe this bag is like that. A bunch of little memories, all stitched together. Or maybe it’s just a fancy bag that cost too much money. Either way, it’s his now. My boy and his Kid Super Louis Vuitton.
