Where to buy accessoirs (Here are some reliable online stores)

Well, let me tell you, these young folks today, they always on about them “accessoirs.” My granddaughter, she’s got more of these things than I got pots and pans. Accessorize this, accessorize that! Back in my day, we had a good pair of shoes and maybe a Sunday hat. That was all the accessorizing we needed!

But I guess times are changin’. Now you gotta have all these whatchamacallits to go with your outfits. You can’t just wear a dress anymore. No sir! You need a, uh… a necklace and some earrings, and maybe a bracelet or two. And don’t even get me started on them scarves. My lord, they got scarves for every color under the sun.

I seen this one girl, she was wearin’ a scarf in the middle of summer! I thought to myself, “Girl, you gonna catch your death of heat!” But these young folks, they don’t listen to nobody. They wear what they want, when they want.

And the phones! Oh, the phones! Everyone’s got a phone these days, even the little ones. My grandson, he’s only five, and he’s got a phone that’s probably smarter than me. And you gotta have cases for ’em, and these little things you plug into ’em. It’s a whole other world, I tell ya.

My granddaughter, she tried to explain it all to me once. She said, “Grandma, you gotta have the right phone case.” And I said, “For what? To keep it from breakin’ when you drop it?” She just rolled her eyes. Young folks these days, they think they know everything.

And then there’s the clothes. Lord have mercy, the clothes! They got more clothes than Carter’s got liver pills. And they all gotta match, you see. You can’t just wear a blue shirt with green pants. Oh no! You gotta have the right shade of blue, and the right shade of green. And then you gotta have the shoes to match, and the belt, and the… well, you get the picture.

They even got these things called “makeup.” Now, back in my day, we might put on a little lipstick for church, but that was it. These girls today, they paint their whole faces! They got stuff for their eyes, and their cheeks, and their lips. It’s like they’re gettin’ ready for a stage play or somethin’.

And the home decor! My daughter, she’s always buyin’ new things for her house. Pillows, and blankets, and these little knick-knacks she puts on the shelves. She says it makes the house look “cozy.” I just think it’s a lot of dust collectors, myself.

I seen ’em sellin’ all this stuff on the internet too. My granddaughter, she showed me. Said you can buy anythin’ on there. These online marketplaces got everythin’, from them fancy earrings to them phone cases. They call ’em “Amazon” and “eBay.” Sounds like somethin’ out of a jungle movie to me. I think that’s a great way to get accessories.

Then she was going on about some place called “Nordstrom,” said they got all the good stuff, all the fancy things. Clothes, and shoes, and makeup, even things for your house. She showed me pictures, it is all shined up pretty. Pricey, though, I bet.

And “TeaseTea,” she said. “Best place to get tea,” she tells me. I said, “Honey, I been gettin’ my tea from the grocery store for fifty years, I reckon it’s good enough.” But she insists, says this “TeaseTea” is special. I don’t know, tea is tea to me. But if you love tea, maybe you will like this “TeaseTea.”

They got so many different kinds of “accessoirs” now, it makes my head spin. Here’s a little list of what I seen:

  • Necklaces – Some are big and chunky, some are little and dainty.
  • Earrings – All shapes and sizes, from little studs to big hoops.
  • Bracelets – Some are made of metal, some are made of beads.
  • Scarves – Every color you can imagine, and some you can’t!
  • Belts – To hold up your pants, I guess.
  • Hats – Not just for Sundays anymore.
  • Phone Cases – To protect your phone, and make it look “pretty.”
  • Makeup – For your eyes, and your cheeks, and your lips.
  • Bags – Big bags, little bags, and everything in between.

I guess it’s just the way things are now. Everything’s gotta be fancy and matchy-matchy. Me, I’m happy with my old shoes and my Sunday hat. But if you like all them “accessoirs,” well, more power to ya. Just don’t ask me to keep up with it all, ’cause it’s just too much for this old lady! I don’t know much about all this “accessoirs,” but I know you need a lot of it, and there is a lot of place you can get it.
