Alright, let’s talk about today’s face painting session. Didn’t have anywhere fancy to go, just wanted to feel a bit more put together, you know? Sometimes just going through the motions helps start the day right.

So, first things first, I splashed my face with some cold water. Wakes you right up. Then I grabbed my trusty moisturizer – gotta have a good base, otherwise, everything just looks flaky later. Let that sink in for a minute while I picked out what I was gonna use.

Getting Started: The Base

I decided to keep it pretty simple today. Didn’t feel like a heavy foundation day. I went for my tinted moisturizer instead. Just squeezed a little blob onto my fingers and kinda dabbed it all over, then blended it out. I find using my fingers works best for this stuff, warms it up nicely.

Next up was concealer. Got these annoying dark circles, seems like they’re permanent residents under my eyes. So, a few dots of concealer there, and a little bit on a spot on my chin that decided to show up overnight. Tapped that in gently with my ring finger. You gotta be careful around the eyes, that skin is delicate.

I didn’t bother with powder all over today, just a tiny bit under the eyes to set the concealer and maybe a little swipe on my T-zone ’cause it gets oily. Used a big fluffy brush for that, just a light dusting.

Adding Some Color

Okay, base done. Time for a bit of life. Grabbed my cream blush – I’m really into cream products lately, they just melt into the skin better, I think. Smiled like a goofball to find the apples of my cheeks and tapped some color on, blending upwards towards my temples. Makes you look less like a zombie instantly.

For eyes, super simple. Honestly just curled my lashes. That alone makes a huge difference for me, opens up the eyes. Then, one coat of mascara. Didn’t want anything clumpy or spidery today, just a little definition. Wiggled the wand right at the root of the lashes and pulled it through.

I almost skipped brows, but they looked a bit sparse. So, I took a spoolie brush and just brushed them upwards to groom them. Then filled in the very obvious gaps with a brow pencil using tiny, hair-like strokes. Nothing too defined, just enough to make them look presentable.

Finishing Touches

Last step was lips. Didn’t want lipstick, felt too much. I just swiped on some tinted lip balm. Gives a hint of color and keeps my lips from feeling dry. Easy peasy.

And that was it, really. Took maybe 10 minutes tops. Stood back, looked in the mirror. Yeah, looked like me, but a slightly more awake, less tired version. It’s not about looking perfect, just feeling a bit better. Mission accomplished for today, I reckon. Just a simple routine, but it does the trick.
