Alright, let’s talk about this YSL sunset wallet on chain thing, ya know, the one all them fancy ladies carry around. I saw it in a magazine at the store, all shiny and pretty. It’s a purse, but it’s also a wallet, I guess. Kinda clever, kinda not, if ya ask me. Why pay extra for somethin’ that does two things when ya got perfectly good things that do one thing at a time? But then again, I ain’t one of them fancy ladies, so what do I know?
Now, this thing, they say it’s real high-end, like them other big names. You know, the ones that charge an arm and a leg for a little piece of leather. This YSL, they say it’s been around for a while, started makin’ these things back in 2016, or so the magazine said. That’s a long time to be sellin’ somethin’ that expensive, must be some good stuff, huh? Or maybe folks just got too much money and don’t know what to do with it.
So, this here wallet-purse, it’s got a chain, ya see? Makes it easy to carry around, I guess. You can sling it over your shoulder, or maybe just hold it in your hand like a clutch, if you’re feelin’ fancy. It’s supposed to be convenient, they say. But if you ask me, a good ol’ pocketbook works just fine. Never had a problem with my pocketbook, carried everything I ever needed. Keys, money, even a little snack sometimes.
They talk about this “Closet x Ure: Lux unboxings” thing, showin’ ya the bag and tellin’ ya how great it is. I seen it on the TV the other day, that young girl was all excited about openin’ the box. Like it was Christmas morning or somethin’. I tell ya, these young folks, they get excited over the strangest things. And the price? Lord have mercy, they say it costs over a thousand dollars! Or even more, dependin’ on where ya buy it. Could buy a whole lotta groceries with that kinda money. Or pay the bills, that’s what I’d do.

- Fancy folks seem to like it, but I ain’t so sure.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ it ain’t pretty. It is pretty, all shiny and new. And I reckon it’s made of good stuff, real leather and all that. But for that kinda money? I could buy a whole new couch, a new TV, and still have some left over for groceries. Heck, I could probably buy a used car for that price! It’s all about priorities, I guess. Some folks like fancy purses, and some folks like havin’ money in the bank. I prefer the bank, myself.
I heard some folks sayin’ it’s an “investment.” That you can buy it now and sell it later for more. Sounds like a whole lotta baloney to me. Who’s gonna pay more for a used purse than ya paid for it new? Makes no sense. But then again, I ain’t no expert on fancy things. I stick to what I know, and I know a good deal when I see one, and this ain’t it, not for me at least.
So, there ya have it, my thoughts on this YSL sunset wallet on chain thing. It’s pretty, it’s expensive, and it’s probably real well made. But it ain’t for me. I’d rather have a good, sturdy purse that holds my stuff and doesn’t cost a fortune. But hey, if you got the money and you like it, go ahead and buy it. It ain’t my place to tell ya how to spend your money. Just don’t expect me to understand why you’d spend that much on a purse, that’s all.
I saw a lady with it at the store once, you know. Real dressed up, high heels and everything. She was holdin’ that purse like it was made of gold. Maybe it is to her, I don’t know. Folks got different ideas about what’s important, I guess. Me, I like a good pair of shoes and a comfortable chair. That’s all I need.
Anyway, that’s my two cents on this YSL thing. Probably ain’t worth much, but it’s honest. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make dinner. Got a pot roast on the stove and it smells delicious.
