Okay, here’s my blog post about trying out some modern haircuts:
So, I’ve been rocking the same hairstyle for, like, ever. You know, the classic “just get it off my neck” kinda deal. But I figured it was time for a change, something a bit more…modern. I wasn’t about to go full-on crazy, but I definitely wanted to step up my hair game. I’m documenting what I tried here!
The Research Phase
First, I hit up the internet. I spent a good chunk of time scrolling through pictures of men’s haircuts. I wasn’t looking for anything too specific, just kinda browsing to see what’s out there. I was trying to find something that looked good, but that I could style in a few minutes before heading out.
- I looked at a ton of different styles: fades, undercuts, quiffs, textured crops… the list goes on.
- I saved a few pictures of styles that I thought looked decent. My main criteria? It had to look relatively low-maintenance. I’m not spending an hour on my hair every morning.
The Barber Shop Visit
Next, I went to a local barber shop. I don’t usually get too fancy with my haircuts, so this was a bit of a step up for me. I showed the barber the pictures I had saved. He looked at them and asked me a few questions, mostly with the cut, how much was I willing to change. He seemed to know what he was doing, so I just told him to go for it, with a little guidance from my end, of course.
The Haircut Itself
He started by washing my hair – that was a nice touch. Then, he got to work with the scissors and clippers. I’m not gonna lie, I was a little nervous watching all that hair fall to the floor. I could feel the difference the whole way through. I kept thinking, “Please don’t mess this up!” But the barber seemed confident, so I just tried to relax.
The Styling
After the cut, he put some product in my hair and showed me how to style it. It was a textured crop with a bit of a fade on the sides. He used some kind of paste or clay – I’m not really sure, to be honest. He showed me how to work it through my hair and kinda mess it up a bit to give it that textured look. Honestly, I can just get out of bed and it looks great. I am not great at doing my hair and was relieved.
The Results
Honestly, I was pretty happy with how it turned out! It was definitely a change from my usual look, but it wasn’t anything too drastic. It looked modern and stylish, but it was still easy to manage.
Overall, I’m glad I took the plunge and tried something new. It’s just hair, right? It’ll grow back. But for now, I’m enjoying my updated look. Maybe I’ll even try something a little more daring next time. Who knows?!
