Tiffany and Co Jordan 4 Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

by Joyce Mackintosh

Alright, so, let’s gab about these here fancy shoes, the Tiffany and Co Jordan 4, or whatever them young folks call ’em. I ain’t no expert, mind you, just a plain ol’ woman lookin’ at these things.

Tiffany and Co Jordan 4 Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

First off, them shoes, they got this color, right? Like that fancy jewelry store, Tiffany’s, that blue-green kinda thing. It’s pretty, I guess, if you like that sorta thing. Folks are makin’ a big fuss about it, sayin’ it’s a “collaboration” or somethin’. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but hey, what do I know?

Now, they’re callin’ ’em “customs” and “reps” and all sorts of words I don’t rightly understand. Seems like some folks are makin’ their own versions, and some are just copies, like them knock-off purses they sell down at the flea market. Lord knows, I ain’t payin’ no fancy prices for somethin’ that ain’t the real deal.

I heard tell these shoes are based on some other shoes, the Jordan 4. Apparently, this Jordan fella was a basketball player, a real good one. Folks back in the day went crazy for his shoes, still do, I reckon. And this “Cool Grey” version they keep talkin’ about? Sounds dull as dishwater to me, but again, I ain’t no spring chicken anymore.

  • The color: That Tiffany blue-green, it’s eye-catchin’, I’ll give it that.
  • The style: High-tops, they call ’em. Reminds me of the shoes kids wore back in the day, only fancier.
  • The price: Don’t even get me started. These things cost more than my monthly grocery bill! Highway robbery, I say.

People are goin’ nuts over these things, linin’ up and whatnot. They say it’s “hype,” like it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. I seen folks gettin’ all worked up over things before, it’ll pass. Just like them Beanie Babies, remember those? Same kinda foolishness.

And this “e-commerce” they’re talkin’ about? Sounds complicated. Back in my day, you went to the store, you paid your money, and you got your shoes. None of this internet nonsense. But I guess that’s how the young folks do things now. Times are changin’, I tell ya.

Some fella named Mache, he’s makin’ these custom shoes. Guess he’s good at it, folks are payin’ him good money. He’s takin’ one kinda shoe and makin’ it look like another. Sounds like a lot of work to me. I’d rather be in my garden.

Then there’s talk about “fantasy pairs” and “insane colorways.” I don’t know what all that means, sounds like a bunch of gibberish. But I guess if people wanna spend their money on colorful shoes, that’s their business.

And why are these Jordan 4 shoes so darn expensive? Well, they say it’s because they got history, this Jordan fella wore ’em, and they’re made by some fancy designer fella named Tinker. And some are “limited edition,” which just means they didn’t make a whole lot of ’em, so folks will pay extra. Seems like a racket to me, but what do I know? I’m just an old lady.

There’s even talk about some shoes based on a restaurant owned by some Wahlberg family. Actors, they are. Now, why you’d want shoes named after a restaurant is beyond me. But folks seem to like it, so who am I to judge?

So, that’s my take on these Tiffany and Co Jordan 4 shoes. Pretty, pricey, and probably not worth all the fuss. But hey, if you got the money and you like ’em, go ahead and buy ’em. Just don’t come cryin’ to me when the fad passes and you’re stuck with a closet full of expensive shoes.

At the end of the day, shoes are shoes. They cover your feet, and that’s all that matters to me.
