thank u next perfume: Decoding the sweet scent, note by note!

by Griffith Maggie

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Thank U, Next” perfume everywhere, and the bottle is just too cute. I finally caved and bought it. But honestly, I had NO idea what it was supposed to smell like. So, I did a little experiment to figure out the scent notes.

thank u next perfume: Decoding the sweet scent, note by note!

First Sniff – Total Confusion

First, I just sprayed it on a piece of paper. My first thought? Sweet! Super sweet. Like, candy sweet. But then…something else. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It was a little bit…fruity?

Digging Deeper – My DIY Scent Breakdown

I decided to get a bit more methodical. I grabbed some cotton balls and some essential oils I had lying around. This is what I did:

  • Sprayed the perfume on one cotton ball. This was my “control.”
  • Smelled the control, then tried to isolate different scents. I kept smelling it and thinking, “Okay, definitely something fruity…maybe raspberry?”
  • I put a drop of raspberry essential oil on another cotton ball. Compared it to the perfume. Hmmm, close! But not quite it.
  • Tried a few other things. Pear. that was also close.
  • Coconut! I added a tiny bit of coconut oil to another cotton ball. Yes! There was definitely a creamy, coconut vibe going on.
  • I am also think it smells Musk and rose,I did the same as before.

My Best Guess (Definitely Not a Professional!)

After all this sniffing and comparing, here’s what I think are the main notes in “Thank U, Next”:

  • Top: Some kind of sweet fruit, like a mix of raspberry and maybe pear.
  • Middle: Definitely some coconut, that’s for * rose!
  • Base: A hint of something a little musky, to give it some depth.

It’s a super fun, girly scent. Very sweet and playful. I’m definitely not a perfume expert, but this was a fun little experiment! My whole room smells like a candy shop now, haha!
