Alright, let’s talk about this Taylor Swift gal and that football game, the Chiefs one, you know? I saw it on the TV, the thing they call the “news,” and my grandkid, the one always glued to that phone, told me a bit too.
So, this Taylor, she’s a singer, I guess. A real famous one, they say. My grandkid plays her music all the time, makes my ears ring sometimes, all that “boom boom” and “zing zing.” Anyways, she was at the Chiefs game yesterday, or maybe it was the day before, who can keep track? Time flies like a scared chicken these days.
She was wearin’ red, I heard. A red bow in her hair, like a little girl goin’ to church. Guess red is the Chiefs’ color, huh? Reminds me of them tomatoes I used to grow in my garden, big and red and juicy. Them were the days.
- This Taylor girl, she’s got a boyfriend, see?
- He plays for the Chiefs, they tell me. A big fella, I bet.
- He throws the ball or catches it, somethin’ like that. I ain’t too sure about the rules of that game. Too much runnin’ around for my old bones.
Now, they say she was at another game before, but then she wasn’t at one after that. Seems like she’s busy, that girl. Singing and dancing and whatnot. Reminds me of when I was young, always busy with chores and lookin’ after the young’uns. But my chores didn’t make me no millions, that’s for sure.
The Chiefs, they won, I think. Or maybe they lost. Like I said, I ain’t too good with the football stuff. But my grandkid was happy, so I guess that’s what matters. He was jumpin’ around like a flea on a hot skillet. Kids these days, always full of energy.
They say this Taylor, she even made some folks at the stadium happy, the ones that work there. Took pictures with them, I guess. That’s nice of her. Treatin’ folks right, that’s important. My mama always told me, “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” Wise words, them were.
And this boyfriend of hers, he went to one of her singin’ shows too. A surprise, they say. Imagine that! A big football player at a singin’ show. The world’s a funny place, ain’t it?
Someone said somethin’ about them payin’ a whole lot of money for a fancy box to watch the Super Bowl, somethin’ called a “suite.” Millions, they said! Millions! For a box to watch a game! Lord have mercy, I could buy a whole farm with that kind of money. Back in my day, a nickel was a lot of money, and a dollar felt like a fortune. Times sure have changed.
So, yeah, that’s the story as I understand it. Taylor Swift, the Chiefs game, the boyfriend, the red bow, and a whole lotta fuss. It’s all a bit much for an old lady like me, but I guess that’s how things are these days. Famous folks and their fancy ways. As long as folks are happy, I suppose that’s all that matters. But I still don’t understand why they run around so much for that little ball. Maybe I’ll ask my grandkid to explain it again, slower this time.
And that’s about all I know about Taylor Swift at the Chiefs game. It was a big deal, seems like. Folks are talkin’ about it, so it must be important. Maybe one day I’ll understand all this fuss about football and singin’ stars. But for now, I’ll stick to my garden and my stories. That’s what I know best.
