The problem was finding something that fit well and didn’t make my head itch. Some were too tight, some were too loose, and some were just plain unflattering. And the itchy ones? Forget about it!
So, I considered making one myself. I’m not exactly a seamstress, but I figured I could handle a simple straw hat with a ribbon or something. I even bought some supplies – a basic straw hat from a craft store, some fabric scraps, and a hot glue gun (my trusty friend!).
That didn’t go so well. Let’s just say the hot glue gun and I had a little disagreement, and the fabric scraps looked like a toddler attacked them. I ended up with a lopsided mess.
Back to the stores I went! This time, I focused on hats with adjustable straps or inner bands. I also made sure to read the labels carefully to avoid any itchy materials. I touched EVERYTHING!
Finally, I found a winner! It’s a wide-brimmed straw hat with a cute little chin strap (because windy days are the WORST). It fits perfectly, blocks the sun, and doesn’t make me look like a scarecrow. Bonus: it was on sale!
I also grabbed a simple visor for when I’m doing yard work. Practicality first, people!
