Okay, so I saw this “Shania Twain Barbie” thing trending and, you know me, I had to jump in and try to make one myself. It just sounded like a fun, goofy project.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed one of my old Barbie dolls. Luckily, I still had a few lying around from when my niece was younger. This one had blonde hair, which seemed like a good starting point, even though Shania’s a brunette now. I figured I could work with that.
The Outfit Struggle
The real challenge was the outfit. I mean, Shania’s got that iconic leopard print look, right? So, I dug through my craft supplies. I found some old fabric scraps, but nothing that really screamed “Shania.”
- Tried using markers to draw leopard spots on some plain fabric. Disaster.
- Considered cutting up an old leopard print scarf, but it was too nice to destroy.
Finally, I decided to go with a simpler look. I found a sparkly black fabric piece and fashioned it into a tiny dress. It wasn’t exactly Shania’s style, but it had some stage presence, I guess.
Hair and Makeup… Kinda
The hair… well, like I said, the doll was blonde. I didn’t have any brown dye, so I just pulled it back into a high ponytail. Close enough, right? For makeup, I used a fine-tip marker to give her some bolder eyebrows and a little bit of eyeliner. I didn’t want to go overboard.
The Final Result (It’s Something)
Okay, so it’s not perfect. It looks more like “Barbie Goes to a Rock Concert” than “Shania Twain Barbie.” But, hey, I had fun doing it! It was a nice little creative break. And who knows, maybe I’ll try again sometime and actually find some leopard print fabric.
