Alright, let’s talk about this Saks Fifth Avenue place in Cincinnati, or whatever they call it. I heard folks callin’ it fancy, so I figured I’d tell ya what I know. Don’t expect no big words from me, I just tell it like it is.
Saks Fifth Avenue, that big store, yeah? Well, it used to be downtown in Cincinnati. Big building, right on 5th Street. They sold all sorts of high-falutin’ clothes and stuff. You know, the kind of things you see on them TV shows, all shiny and new.
- They had them fancy shoes, like Jimmy Choo and Valentino. Heard them names before? Me neither, till someone told me.
- And clothes, lots of clothes. For men and women, all them designer names. Burberry, Calvin Klein, I think they said. Sounded expensive to me.
- Purses too, all them fancy handbags. I tell ya, some of them things cost more than my old truck!
They said it was like that big Saks store in New York City. Never been there myself, but I hear it’s a real fancy place. So, this Cincinnati one, it was supposed to be all high-class, ya know? They even had people help you shop, real personal service they called it. Guess you needed it, with all them fancy things and high prices.
But here’s the thing, that store, it ain’t there no more. Closed down, see? End of 2022, they packed up and left. Just like that. Now, the building sits there empty. Big ol’ empty building downtown. Heard the city folks are tryin’ to figure out what to do with it. Some say tear it down, build apartments or a hotel. Don’t seem right to me, tearing down a perfectly good building, but what do I know?
Now, there’s somethin’ else called Saks OFF 5TH. Don’t get confused now. It’s kinda like the same company, but different. See, OFF 5TH, it sells stuff cheaper. Discount stuff, they call it. Not all from the fancy Saks store though. Heard most of it comes from other places. So it’s like gettin’ leftovers, I guess. But cheaper leftovers, mind you. Still too pricey for me, but some folks like it.
You can’t find OFF 5TH stuff at the big Saks Fifth Avenue store, or online on their website. They keep them separate. I guess they don’t want them fancy folks seein’ the cheaper stuff. OFF 5TH, it’s got its own stores. Don’t know if there’s one around here though. Never been to one myself.
So, what happened to the Saks Fifth Avenue in Cincinnati? Well, I guess not enough folks were buyin’ all that fancy stuff. Maybe Cincinnati ain’t fancy enough, I don’t know. Or maybe folks just ain’t got that kind of money to spend. Times are tough, you know? Can’t be spendin’ all your hard-earned cash on fancy clothes and shoes. Gotta put food on the table first, that’s what I say.
Now, if you’re lookin’ for the Saks Fifth Avenue store, you gotta go online. They got a website, . You can buy all that fancy stuff there, and they’ll ship it to ya. Free shippin’ they say, every day, every order. Fancy that! But like I said, it ain’t cheap. You better have a good job or a whole lotta money saved up if you plan on shoppin’ there.
So that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. Saks Fifth Avenue was in Cincinnati, big fancy store. Closed down now. Left an empty building. They got that OFF 5TH place too, for cheaper stuff. And you can always buy online. But me? I’ll stick to my old clothes and my local store. That fancy stuff ain’t for me. I’d rather spend my money on somethin’ practical, somethin’ that lasts. That’s just common sense, ain’t it?
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about Saks Fifth Avenue in Cincinnati. Hope it makes some sense to ya. It’s just a store, after all. Nothin’ more, nothin’ less.
