Okay, so I’ve been getting into reggae lately, and I really wanted to dress the part for this concert I went to. Here’s how I put together my outfit.
First, I wanted to be comfortable, you know? It was gonna be a long night of dancing, so I started with a pair of high-waisted denim shorts. They’re my go-to for any kind of casual event where I know I’ll be moving around a lot. They are easy to move in, and I like how they look on me.
Then, I found this oversized band T-shirt from one of my favorite reggae artists. It was a bit too big, which is perfect because I wanted that relaxed, easy-going vibe. I tied it up in the front, just a little knot to give it some shape, but it was still loose and comfy. I love band T-shirts. They are my favorite thing to wear when I go to see live music.
Since it gets a bit chilly at night, I grabbed a lightweight cardigan. It’s this flowy, kind of bohemian style, which I thought fit the reggae aesthetic pretty well. I made sure I got one that was a bit colorful. It was light enough to not make me overheat, but it was there if I needed it. Plus, it looked pretty cool when I was dancing.
- I also packed a crossbody bag.
- It’s small, but it holds all my essentials – phone, wallet, keys.
- And it leaves my hands free for dancing, which is the most important thing.
- Oh, and sunglasses!
- The concert was partly during the day, so those were a must.
Finally, I topped it all off with a wide-brimmed hat. Not only did it protect me from the sun, but it also added a little extra style to the whole outfit. It was one of those straw hats with a colorful band around it, very beachy and relaxed. I found it in the back of my closet, and it was perfect for this concert.
Putting It All Together
Honestly, it was a lot of fun experimenting with different pieces and seeing what worked. I even tried on a crochet top at one point, but it felt a bit too much for me. I mean, you do you, but I like to keep things simple. I also had a pair of leather shorts that I tried to wear with the band T-shirt, but they didn’t look as good as the denim shorts. I think it is important to be comfortable in your own skin, and wear what makes you feel good.

The whole process of putting together this outfit was a blast. I felt great at the concert, comfortable and stylish, and I think I fit right in with the reggae crowd. Next time, I might try incorporating some Rastafarian colors or maybe even some African prints. We’ll see! There are so many things that you can do with reggae fashion, and I am excited to see what I come up with next.
