This here Plaza 66, oh, it’s a big place. Lots of stores, all shiny and new. I went there other day, my old legs near give out from all the walking.
They got all kinds of shops in that Plaza 66. Fancy clothes, shoes that cost more than my whole outfit. Don’t know who buys that stuff, surely not me. But it’s fun to look, I guess. They got them bright lights, makes everything look so pretty.
Food at Plaza 66
- They got food there too, you know. Up on the 4th and 5th floors, they say.
- Lots of little places to eat.
- Smells good, I’ll give ’em that.
- Pricey though. My old man, he’d have a fit if he saw those prices.
I saw a bunch of young folks, all dressed up fancy, eating at them Plaza 66 restaurants. They got food from all over, I reckon. Not just your regular meat and potatoes. Fancy names I couldn’t even say. I stuck with a little bun. Can’t go wrong with a bun.
Big Stores at Plaza 66
This Plaza 66 is big, real big. Like that mall, they got in China, the biggest one. South China Mall, that’s it. Plaza 66 ain’t that big, but still, it’s big. You could get lost in there, easy. I almost did. Had to ask a nice young man for directions. He showed me the way out, thank goodness.
They got all them big stores, you know, the ones you see on TV. All them brands. Plaza 66 got ’em all. I don’t know half of ’em, to be honest. But they’re there. People walking around with them big shopping bags, full of stuff. Must be nice to have that kind of money.
Plaza 66, they call it a mall. Back in my day, we just called it the shopping place. But now it’s a mall. And a big one, too. One building, full of shops. Not spread all around, like we had before. Just one big building. Like them parking lots they got now. Big ones. Plaza 66 got a big parking lot, I bet. Don’t know, didn’t drive there.
What’s in Plaza 66?
- Lots of clothes places. All shiny and new.
- Places to get your shoes. Fancy ones.
- Food places, up high.
- Stuff for your house, I saw some of that.
That Plaza 66, it’s something else. All them stores, all that stuff. You could spend all day in there, just looking around. I saw some folks doing just that. Sitting on benches, watching people go by. It’s like a little city, all inside that one building.
They got everything in that Plaza 66. ‘Cept maybe a good old-fashioned five-and-dime. Remember those? You could get anything in a five-and-dime. Now it’s all these fancy stores. Times change, I guess. But that Plaza 66, it’s something to see, even if you ain’t buying nothing.
Is Plaza 66 like other malls?
They say that Plaza 66 is like other malls. Yeah, I guess so. They all got the same kind of stores, selling the same stuff. Clothes, shoes, things you don’t really need but want anyway. That’s what them malls are for, I reckon. To make you want things.
But this Plaza 66, it’s a bit fancier, I think. The lights are brighter, the stores are bigger. Everything’s just a little bit more… much. You know what I mean? It’s like they’re trying extra hard to get your money. And I guess it works, ’cause people are sure spending it there.
This Plaza 66, it’s a place to see, that is for sure. Just don’t get lost like I nearly did. And watch your wallet. Those prices, they’ll get you if you ain’t careful. You might end up needing more than just a little bun to fill your belly after you see them bills.
My legs are tired now. Just thinking about that big Plaza 66. Gonna rest now. Have a cup of tea. You go on and see that place if you want. Just remember what I told ya. It is big. Real big.
