Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Audrain thingy, the Audrain Con-course, yeah, that’s it, in 2024. Sounds fancy, huh? I ain’t never been to one of them things, but I heard it’s a big deal, like, real big. Folks comin’ from all over, I reckon. So, if you’re thinkin’ ’bout goin’, listen up, ’cause I’m gonna tell ya how to plan it, just like I’d plan a trip to the market, only, you know, fancier.
First things first, you gotta figure out where you’re goin’. This Audrain thing, it’s in some place called Newport, Rhode Island. Never been there myself, but I hear it’s by the water. So, you gotta get yourself there, right? That means plannin’ your trip. You could drive, like I always do, or maybe fly in one of them airplanes. Fancy folks, they fly. Me? I stick to the road.
Now, plannin’ the trip is important. You don’t wanna just jump in the car and go, unless you like gettin’ lost, which I don’t. There’s these things called “itinerary planners” now. Sounds complicated, but it ain’t. It’s just a way to figure out your route, where you’re gonna stop, and all that. My grandson showed me one on his phone. You just punch in where you’re startin’ and where you’re goin’, and it tells you the best way to get there. He says some of ’em even tell you where to eat and sleep. Imagine that!
One of them things he showed me, it was called “Wanderlog.” Said you can plan with your friends, mark the roads you wanna take. Sounds handy, I guess. Then there’s another one, “Trippy.” That one figures out the best way to go, and even tells you what other folks liked, like restaurants and hotels. Too fancy for me, I tell ya, but maybe you city folks like that kinda stuff.
- Figure out how you’re gettin’ there – drivin’ or flyin’.
- Use one of them itinerary planners to plan your route.
- Find some places to stop along the way, maybe for a bite to eat or to stretch your legs.
If you’re drivin’, you gotta think about how long it’s gonna take, how much gas money you’ll need, and where you’re gonna sleep. My grandson says there’s websites that help with that too. They call it “estimatin’ costs.” Basically, it helps you figure out how much money you’re gonna spend so you don’t go broke on your trip. And packin’, don’t forget that! You gotta bring clothes, of course, and maybe some snacks for the road. Nothin’ worse than bein’ hungry on a long drive.
And speakin’ of packin’, you gotta think about what you’re gonna wear to this Audrain thing. I hear it’s a fancy car show, so you probably don’t wanna show up in your overalls, like I would. Maybe some nice pants and a shirt? I don’t know, I ain’t no fashion expert. Just look presentable, I guess.
Now, if you’re one of them folks who likes everything planned out for ya, there’s these things called “tailored travel plans.” Sounds like somethin’ the rich folks do. Basically, someone else plans your whole trip for you, based on what you like and what you wanna do. They even pick the restaurants and hotels for you. Too much fuss for me, but hey, if you got the money, why not?
And if you don’t even know where to go, there’s these AI thingamajigs now that can help you. My grandson showed me one called “Roam Around.” You just tell it when you’re goin’ and it gives you ideas. Crazy, right? The future is here, I guess.
But back to this Audrain Con-course. I heard it’s a big car show, with all sorts of fancy cars. Like that one, what was it? A Maserati, yeah, that’s it. Won some kinda prize, the “Best of Show” they called it. Belonged to some fella named Utaski. Must be nice to have a car like that. They had it at this Breakers Mansion place in Newport. Sounds grand, don’t it? This Audrain thing happens every October, so you got plenty of time to plan.
So, whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned traveler, plannin’ is key. Figure out your route, your budget, and your packin’ list. And don’t forget to have fun! Even if you’re just lookin’ at cars you can’t afford, it’s always nice to see somethin’ different. And who knows, maybe you’ll even win somethin’ yourself. Probably not a Maserati, though. Those are for the fancy folks.
So there ya have it, my advice on how to plan for this Audrain Con-course 2024. Take it or leave it, it’s up to you. Me? I’ll probably just stick to the local market. Less fuss, and the tomatoes are always good.
