Today I want to share with you guys about my experience with the Nike Air Max 97 limited edition. It all started when I saw a post on some forum about the release of this limited edition. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a huge fan of the Air Max series, so this immediately caught my attention.
The first thing I did was check the information about this limited edition. It turned out that these shoes were part of a collaboration with UNDEFEATED (UNDFTD) in 2017, and they were released in two colorways. This collaboration was highly coveted at the time. I thought, “Man, if I could get my hands on a pair, that would be awesome!”
Research and Search
- Checked online forums and communities: I started digging around online, looking for any information on where I could find these shoes.
- Looked at reseller websites: I knew they would be hard to find at retail price, so I checked out a bunch of reseller websites. The prices were crazy, but I was determined.
After a lot of searching, I finally found a pair in my size. The price was steep, but I decided to go for it. I mean, how often do you get a chance to own a piece of sneaker history like this? I placed the order and waited impatiently for them to arrive.
The Unboxing
When the package finally arrived, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I carefully opened the box, and there they were, in all their glory. The shoes looked even better in person than in the pictures. The design was sleek, and the quality was top-notch. I could see why these were so popular.
I put them on immediately, and they fit perfectly. The full-length visible Air unit made them super comfortable. I remember reading somewhere that the 97s were the first shoes to feature this, which made them one of the most innovative shoes of their time. No wonder they are so comfortable.
Wearing Them Out
I started wearing them out, and man, did they turn heads. People were asking me where I got them, and I felt pretty cool telling them about the collaboration and how hard they were to find. I even had a few people offer to buy them off me, but there was no way I was letting go of these babies.
Reflecting on the Experience
Looking back, getting these Nike Air Max 97 limited edition shoes was quite the adventure. It took a lot of research, searching, and of course, money. But in the end, it was totally worth it. These shoes are not just footwear; they are a statement.
I know that the Air Max shoes, in general, are quite expensive because of the demand, the technology, the design, and all that hype. The Air Force 1 is actually Nike’s best-selling shoe, with around 10 million pairs sold each year, as I know. But for me, the Air Max 97, especially this limited edition, holds a special place in my collection. I think the Air Max 90 is also very popular, with a score of 8.93 out of 10, beating the Air Max 95. But the 97s, especially the limited editions, are just something else.
