Neymars Iconic Curls: A Guide to Styling Curly Hair

by Joyce Mackintosh

Alright, let’s talk about this Neymar fella and his hair. You know, that soccer player, always running around on the field. Folks keep yappin’ about his curly hair, so I figured I’d chime in.

Now, I ain’t no fancy hairdresser or nothin’, but I got eyes, don’t I? And I see that boy’s got a head full of them curls. They bounce all over the place when he’s playin’. Reminds me a bit of my grandson’s hair after he rolls around in the dirt all day.

Some folks call it a “World Cup haircut” or somethin’. Sounds fancy, but it’s just curls, ain’t it? They say he styles it different ways, sometimes all big and poofy, sometimes more… I dunno… tamed, I guess. Like he combed it or somethin’. But it’s always curly, that’s for sure.

  • He had this one look, they said it was like from the 1970s. A “mullet perm,” they called it. Said folks were ashamed of it back then, but Neymar, he wore it proud with his soccer shirt. I reckon he can pull off anything, that boy. He’s got that kinda face, you know?
  • Then there’s this “curl silver with low fade” thing. Now, I ain’t got a clue what that means, but it sounds like somethin’ them city folks do. Probably involves a lot of fancy scissors and stuff. But the curls are still there, just shorter on the sides, I reckon.

They say his hair is naturally curly, not straight. Well, that makes sense. You can’t fake them kinda curls, can ya? They got a life of their own, them curls do. They spring up and do their own thing, no matter how much you try to tame ’em.

Now, I heard some folks talkin’ about how long them curls should be. Said somethin’ about no more than two or three inches below the shoulder if your hair is straight, or at your shoulder if it’s curly. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me. Hair grows how it grows, that’s what I say. You can’t tell it what to do.

And this boy, Neymar, he changes his hair all the time, they say. Always somethin’ new. But it’s always them curls, just styled different. Like my neighbor’s prize-winning rooster, always struttin’ around, but sometimes he fluffs his feathers this way, sometimes that way. It’s the same rooster, just lookin’ a little different.

I seen a video once, they showed all his different hairstyles. My goodness, that boy’s got more hairstyles than I got chickens! But like I said, it always comes back to them curls. That’s his thing, I guess. And good for him, I say. It’s better than bein’ bald, ain’t it?

So, there you have it. My two cents on Neymar’s curly hair. It’s curly, it’s bouncy, and he changes it up sometimes. But it’s always them curls. And that’s all there is to it, far as I can tell. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed them chickens.

Neymar’s curly hair is definitely somethin’ people notice. Whether it’s long or short, styled fancy or just left natural, them curls are always there. It’s part of who he is, I reckon, just like my wrinkles are part of who I am. And that’s just fine.

And let me tell you somethin’ else about them curls. They probably take a lot of work, you know? All that washin’ and stylin’ and whatnot. Us country folks, we just wash our hair and let it dry. But them fancy folks, they gotta have their products and their gels and their… I dunno… all kinds of stuff. But hey, if it makes ‘em happy, then more power to ‘em. It ain’t hurtin’ nobody.

So, yeah, Neymar’s curly hair. It’s a thing, I guess. And now you know what I think about it. Which ain’t much, but it’s somethin’. Now go on, get outta here and let me get back to my chores.
